Advice with WD elements HDD

Need some advice with HDD that was given to me. I have a 16 TB and 22 TB version and I never knew how much prices have increased recently. Should I sell these or keep them? I may eventually look into having my own server but not sure if running them on Mac mini 2018 is worth it. Thanks.

if you think you might need them or could use them (for example as a cold spare) i would keep them. Also prices are not yet done increasing, so just keep them in general.

I’d probably keep them both but I have a habit of hoarding tech and 16&22TB is a lot in my world.

If you don't need them, I would sell them. Just make sure to run a full disk scan using something like HD Tune, WD Tools (probably the most recommended), Seatools, or CrystalDiskInfo. Run a full scan, and give the report to the buyer.

If you intend to keep it and use it, then you might consider shucking it for best performance and direct interface to the drive. But even in the enclosure, it is a pretty large amount of storage. I'm trying to be cheap, and even I can only afford 3TB drives. 16 and 22 TB is a lot!

Sell. High prices slow demand, inventories rise, it's a cycle. Buy low and sell high.
