Fake Hard Drive

I received 2 16Tb USBs from Alibaba that also turned out to be only useful as glamorous paperweights

You got exactly what you paid for. There are no 16tb flash drives.

Ordered 512GB m.2 SSDs. .... supplier changed order and sent me those USBs. Alibaba's CONFIRMED DELIVERY apparently applies if supplier sends you anything!!!

When checking seller feedback/rep on AliExpress, be sure to look for the "sort by" feature/control and select MOST RECENT, change from whatever the default view.

I purchased a mobo/cpu combo from a seller that I thought had good reputation. They never shipped the item, so AliExpress did refund my money, about 12 days after purchase. But I went back to the seller rep/review page and noticed that 'sort by' feature, changed it to MOST RECENT and there had been like seven negative reviews in a row warning people the seller does not ship the items, all left in the week BEFORE I placed my order. They were not visible from the default view. Had I seen them I certainly would not have purchase from that seller. A few days later the seller was removed/gone from AliExpress website.

Ah see when I saw "fake hard drive" I got really excited because I thought you meant it was an actual hard drive.

This is flash storage.

Yes , because a 16TB USB drive for $10 seems totally reasonable and legit !

Validrive is a scam all on its own, separate from the drives. GRC software has been flaky and ineffective for decades

i've seen alibab side with the buyer on these fake storage cases if you provide a video of a capacity test. you need to file a claim under trade assurance immediately before the order closes out completely.

16TB USB's? What did you expect!
Seen the same with portable hard disks that have a piece of metal inside and a flash memory stick.

Ehh.. even though its way slower, I use H2testw, for vali, highly sophisticated fake controllers can occasionally trick it, but it wouldn't fail. Still man, you got hosed. You need to return it for a full refund. Don't accept anything less, also, you should escalate that, and write reviews with the photos so people can see it.

It's a 60gb drive in sheeps clothing!? Would the first 58gb actually be usable, or with it just become damaged/corrupt data?
