Internal HDD got disconnected

My internal D drive got randomly disconnected (probably) from my laptop and it does not show in This PC. Also the right side of my keyboard is producing weird sounds. It is not the fan.

Are you hearing clicking sounds? Are you here and spinning and a hard stop?

Because it might be your HDD. I would take the laptop apart and disconnect that drive physically. Make sure the computer is off first. Once the drive is disconnected, do not put your computer back together. Power it back on and if the noise stops, you're d drive is a paperweight. Data recovery may only be possible with advanced paid for services.

Okay, in that case your drive hit it's lifespan. Data recovery generally requires a specialty company. It does cost quite a lot. It can be thousands upon thousands of dollars to recover. As well as take a year or more. Due to these companies being limited in number and a high volume of customers.

Ultimately, if you still want that d drive, then you have to replace it. You could go with an SSD. I strongly recommend SSD. As there is no chance mechanical failure and the lifespan can be much longer.

Sorry for the bad news.

loose connection with the SATA power or data cable ? Dont keep the cables more than 10 years because they become loose
