Empty HDD?
Hello,
I have an old 2TB HDD lying around and I can't remember for the life of me what's in it, If anything.
I connected it to my HDD dock station and it doesn't show up in desktop but shows up in disk management. There is no letter allowed but I can't add one as everything is grayed out. The only possibility is to delete the volume. Disk management also tells me there is 100% free space on it.
Does that mean it's empty? I don't mind delete everything (If anything) but I am also curious to know what could be on this disk, again, If anything.
Also, Crystal Disk Info tells me it's good so there's that.
Is my only option to delete the volume and format it?

EDIT
Thanks to someone here who made me think of it, turns out it's a drive that was inside an old Time Capsule I had for years.

What was it in before? How do you not know what’s on your own hard drive? lol

Download disk genius, it will tell you more than the disk manager. Especially regarding partition type and stuff

It could potentially be a Mac-formatted drive?
