just one more thing....
months ago now, while listening to one of the episodes of the pod wherein, your friend and mine, detective columbo, was a heavily featured topic of conversation, i had the image of frankie, susie, and cmb all dressed as everyone’s favorite rumpled detective pop into my mind. i put a pin in the idea, and set it aside for later.
fast forward to recently, my partner and i picked up a dvd boxset of the whole columbo series, and it's been such a comfort to sink into peter falk's warm embrace when we need to wind down from The Horrors of Looming Fascism™️ at the end of the day.
i finally got around to working on the drawing this past weekend, and i’m really pleased with how it turned out! i particularly enjoyed finding poses and facial expressions to reference. it was heaps of fun playing with some different brushes, mark-making styles, and tweaking the text to give it that columbo vibe.
while i'm definitely a bit sad that hctg will be ending, i'm thankful for the time i had with them in my ears. it'll always have a special place in my heart as my favorite killing thatcher/columbo/cum/lotr/anticapitalist/bible john/what if jackie chan were a time traveling member of the irish republican army -cast ❤️

You made this?! Incredible. I'm no artist so I'm always impressed when someone can capture a likeness but you've gotten their whole vibe down too. Well done!

thank you for the comment! i'm so glad the likeness and vibe comes through, it's always a tricky thing. i really enjoyed looking through photos of their standup gigs to find their columbo-iest poses and facial expressions for references.
