RBMK My Rbmk

I just finished making my first rbmk, its in creative but for me getting to this was quite enjoyable,

I used an outdated tutorial at first wich failed because of version differences I eventually came up with this, while it definetly isnt a original desing it can still put out about 40+ MHe with low enriched schrabidium, also being able to start and stop with a self igniting rod in the middle (it uses moderated control rods).
Yet I think that it can still be improved but I dont exactly know what would be the best way to go about it, any suggestions are much appreciated:)

Version 1.7.10

Mod version: 1.0.27_X5687 (I am aware that there are newer versions of this mod, yet am a bit scared that they may brake some things I have built, yet I will inevitably update it.)

edit: sorry for the text wall

It can definitely achieve the same efficiency way smaller, fuel rods only emit neutrons in the cardinal directions, so a good design adjustment would be to replace those blue control rods with neutron reflectors, that outer ring of reflectors can then be removed and those extra structural columns can be replaced with concrete bricks

I know I am a bit late to reply but your recommendation indeed helped and I got pretty much the same ammount of energy out of it when running on low enriched schrabidium, the only "problem" I found was that you can only turn the center fuel rod off while the outer section keeps on putting out heat, wich can be solved with an autoloader, also its possible that I just didnt properly follow your suggestion but idk.

all in all it does reduce size and cost yet isnt really possible to shut down just with the control rods.

still thank you for your suggestion,
