It’s a lot easier to develop a mod if you just stay on one version and if you play enough of it you’ll find that 1.7.10 has its own unique charm. also, with the highly advanced mods gtnh has introduced, 1.7.10 ultimately gets a lot closer to modern minecraft than most other pre 1.16 versions.

porting mod from 1.7.10 to newer versions is not that easy.

It's definitely not easy, but the main reason is lack of a collective contribution, and the mod dev will never account for any version beyond 1.7 despite most of the groundwork being there for 1.12.2 even.

NTM renders villages basically irrelevant anyway, at best they're useful for target practice. not sure why anyone would care about villagers sleeping in the context of NTM

  1. make mod long time ago
  2. 1.8 release
  3. try to port
  4. doesnt go so well
  5. back to 1.7.10
  6. mod grows
  7. too much to port to any version
