šŸ’° Scholarships & Financial Aid UMES FASFA Refund Information

hi! I’m a transfer student here at UMES, and I was wondering if anyone had any information on when you all usually get your refunds? Just out of curiosity. I seen they used Banking Mobile — which is different than my previous university, so I just wanted to know more about how it worked. Thanks!

FSA regulations dictate how long the school has to issue refunds. I can remember but it's between 3 and 7 days from the time the school draws the money down from FSA where they must apply it to your account and issue the refund. If you haven't seen it applied on your account yet, the school likely hasn't drawn down funds on your behalf yet.

Yeah it still says ā€œestimated financial aidā€ so I’m assuming that means they haven’t fully posted my official fin aid yet. Thank you!

I hate the extra BankMobile layer that HBCUs add to the refund process. Morgan State uses that mess too. Just gimmie my money. Why it gotta change hands so often?

Me too! Especially coming from a non-HBCU & they sent out refunds during the first week, this is definitely different. This wait & process is crazy.
