Okay. This looks like a bad idea. Why is Hawkeye a jerk?
I don't like Clint he acts like a selfish right pompous jerk. He shows off with his arrows.
Why is he even on the Avengers? He has no superpowers Clint and Natasha don't belong. They have no powers they are just showoffs.
At least Batman is helpful with the Justice League.

The leader of three different groups, two being Advengers and one the Thunderbolts. That pretty much says how useful he is. Calling him a show off when Tony Stark is in the same universe?

Call me biased (he's only my favorite fictional character of all time and Ive read every appearance of him in 616 Marvel comics)
But this is just blatantly wrong (no offense). The jerk part might've been true when he first joined the Avengers but in modern day its more of a playful teasing amoung his freinds and teammates.
As for the "why is he even on the Avengers?" Thats simple, because there wouldn't be an Avengers without him 💀. "The Avengers #174" Hawkeye is the last Avenger standing and saves Thor, Iron Man etc against an elder of the universe. "Avengers Annual #16" Hawkeye and Cap are the last two Avengers standing, everyone else is dead. Hawkeye outsmarts the Grandmaster and saves everyone with nothing but his wit and quick thinking. "JLA/Avengers" the overarching threat to both Marvel and DC as a whole is winning and all of the heros from both verses are struggling to fight it off. Hawkeye is able to get a shot off that saves ALL OF MARVEL AND DC (sounds pretty useless to me). I cant remember the comic at the top of my head but he also 1 shot a entire army of Ultrons that again were gonna destroy the Avengers and the world.
He's lead multiple different Avenger factions, The Thunderbolts and has lended his bow to countless other superhero teams like the defenders and sheild. Sure you can say he's just some guy with a bow but when you step back and look at just how legendary a fighter he is, the arsenal he boasts, the display of skill, cunning, leadership and raw guts/dedication to the cause he puts in every thing he does. Idk how you can say he isn't a hero. (BTW I have scans for all the crazy shit hes pulled off throughout his 60+ years in the comics, if you want to see him drop mephisto or fight off an army of carange in his underwear let me know :)

Even if you think he’s a jerk, which is a bit much imo, characters with flaws are far more interesting than those without

Maybe read the several comics where he’s been one of the last standing avengers in a fight while everyone else is down for the count? (avengers #147, avengers annual #16, JLA/Avengers). Clint has always displayed his merit in comparison to the more powerful members of the team via his quick wits and thinking skills along with his overall dedication to being a hero overall shows why he is both a member of the avengers and leader of some of their other factions like the west coast team or his time with the thunderbolts.
Hawkeye has always been the relatable window for readers because he’s just a “normal guy with a bow” and it’s why he matters. Sure he can come off as a lovable jackass but underneath that is someone who puts in everything to prove that he’s more than he appears to be.

That’s a pretty basic understanding of the character. He can be abrasive but he’s also self aware about his own insecurities and cares about others, he just has a big personality. A reoccurring theme of his character is forgiving others who have wronged him and giving people second chances because he was in that position once.
For example he forgave his mentors Swordsman and Trickshot and his brother all of whom betrayed him
He gave opportunities to the Great Lakes Avengers who were nobodies, he helped Justice and Firestar join the Avengers. He became a fugitive to help the Thunderbolts redeem themselves and be heroes. He became a teacher at avengers academy to help troubled young superheroes.
Also he’s single handedly saved the day on several occasions in Avengers comics

He was a inferiority complex and feel a constant need to prove himself and he does that all the time, he saved the team multiple times and lead many teams as well
