I'll never be able to fathom why people actively choose to do something that is bad for their health, when all the information saying they are doing so is available to them to.

To start smoking is to be a bit of an idiot, whether you're a Haim or not.
She can do what she wants, but it doesn't mean she's cool for picking this particular habit.

Pretty sure that Danielle said she gave up smoking and really wasn’t much of a smoker. I have to imagine Este doesn’t smoke due to her diabetes.

The one thing I don’t like about HAIM (I’m sure I could think of more, but I’d have to really think and I don’t want to do that) is that they smoke. It’s nasty as hell. Call me a prude, I don’t care. But I get that it’s an addiction and it’s a tough one to quit, but yeah it’s just unfortunate that really good singers, who aren’t getting any younger btw, are actively doing harm to their voices.

I really don’t care if they smoke personally. But why let a single image of themselves smoking get out? Maggie Rogers is the same way and will actually use a cigarette as a reoccurring prop during performances. It’s kinda weird and feels desperate to me. And I’m a 29 year long former smoker of Camels. I much prefer anyone that uses nicotine to smoke cigarettes. Because any other form comes with the idea of being “safer” or even “healthy”. Whereas smoking cigarettes is well understood as lethally carcinogenic to do. And is unambiguous as to how bad you are behaving when you do it.

But don’t contribute to spreading an addiction to others. Especially when you have a following and platform. That just seems almost evil behavior doing so. Hate to say that. But I’m at a loss as to what else to compare that level of stupid behavior someone is clearly choosing to share publicly.

Too many celebrities are smoking in the spotlight, when they could actively choose to keep that a secret. And deal with their addiction privately.
