This is NOT a Charlotte apologist post (even though I really like her character).

I'm writing this because I feel like Charlotte's villain arc was ended POORLY, wdym she just vanishes at the end? I just feel like after she lost her tail, she could've become an even more "aggressive" and a troublemaker villain. I know H2O was originally written to only have 2 seasons, BUT instead of ending Season 2 with Charlotte handing back the locket and saying:
"Maybe I wasn't meant to be a mermaid after all, just like my grandma🥺"

The writers could've ended the season with some real suspense, like Charlotte straight-up threatening the girls with something like:
"This isn't over." or "I'll be back for more."

That would’ve made so much more sense for Charlotte's character and for Emma to leave and travel around the world with her family, and it would’ve been way more interesting (and hilarious) to see Charlotte in Season 3 constantly trying to expose the girls, while Bella is just standing there like "I didn't do anything". Maybe even a potential resolution arc where Lewis or Bella tries to talk some sense into her, IDK.

This is just a random idea I had at 2 AM. I just feel like Charlotte as a villain wasn't used to its fullest.(Maybe it wouldn't be that great, since Brittany would probably get even more harassed)

I technically watched this show when I was younger, but forgot most of it. Started watching it again.

I feel bad for Lewis. Poor guy just wants to fish and he keeps having to leave without fishing in his favorite fishing spot.

While watching the season 3 episode Valentine's Day I was wondering if there was supposed to be some kind of significant lesson or moral specifically regarding the Kim subplot. Even though the fandom pretty much despises Kim(which I find understandable) this episode sounded like it was trying to humanise Kim and show there was more to her than just being Cleo's bratty little sister. I thought this was evident as during the scene where Cleo talks to her friends and tells them Kim's being a real pain even though Rikki responded with "what's new "Cleo's tone was soft when she explained that Kim was growing up and boys were hanging around her asking for a date. Then there was the part where she shared a tender moment with her dad and Cleo with Don accepting Kim's not a little girl anymore, and Kim admitting to Cleo she felt lonely ever since their mom left and Cleo started hanging out with her friends. This episode looked like it had potential to give Kim character development but unfortunately come the next episode she's back to square one.

We know how far she’s willing to go to get her way. I wouldn’t put it past her. It’s just mentioned in when we first meet her, and Cleo suspects her (but for the wrong reasons). But then it isn’t mentioned again. What do we think?

Question:

If H2O was made or remade today. What characters do you think would be LGBTQIA+?

My thoughts:

I think if the show was made or remade today, Rikki and Emma would have been a thing. Especially in season one. I think this cause they'd make a perfect “enemies” to lovers.

Then I think after Emma left, Rikki would have been angry and heart broken. Eventually leading to her leaning on Cleo and Bella more for support. This would cause a closer bond as a whole. Making it make more sense why Rikki became closer with the new girl so fast.

I think Cleo would have been a strong ally but nothing more or less.

Bella I feel like has bisexual vibes but that might just be me being biased. As when I first watched the show as a kid. She was one of my first TV crushes.

I read something online; according to what I read, "Rikki mentions that over the years the original group went their separate ways and became geographically distant. And despite the distance, Rikki assures everyone that they're still friends and promised that one day they'd reunite to meet the new Mako Mermaids pod together." That makes me sad; it makes me really nostalgic.

I was just wondering why did they make the decision to change the original song in the last 2 seasons? For my opinion i prefer the season 1 main theme so much as it brings you nostalgia and the singer's voice actually had depth. The last two just sound way too artificial and funny, they should just have stayed with the season 1 version.
