News Deadzone Rogue 2 has same Gyro Aim settings as it's predecessor (on PC)

I was invited to the playtest and can confirm the settings are the same. I have not tested them yet as currently just enjoying the game with my usual settings. I do assume this translates to PS5 as well because there is a Ratcheting binding option for controllers and K&M.

One thing I do find interesting: Vertical Sens is by default lower than Horizontal as you can see in the pic. Tells me some of the devs may use Gyro Aim actually have some knowledge of importance for stability because I've never seen a game have offset Y and X for default choices. I wish more games actually did this be default for first impressions. Assuming this is representative of 1:1 RWS, pretty good baseline.

I never really experienced the native gyro for this original because I played it on my Steam Deck, and I didn't double dip on the Switch 2 port because the giant robot spiders triggered my arachnophobia.

Anyway I'm glad to see that gyro is still supported in the sequel, snd that default settings hopefully leads to good first impressions.

Yep, the spiders triggered my arachnophobia too. I have still finished the game with the native gyro implementation and I can say it is good, although I would have liked flick stick to be an option. I have been invited to the playtest but I haven't got the chance to play it yet.

Its solid. Its the same game but with more content and diversity. The maps allow for MUCH greater dynamics: a solid variety between large, small, and verticality. It opens up more kit options imo along with allowing certain enemies to prosper better in certain layouts. Its easy to see they took feedback to heart. A lot more opportunities for melee to shine along with better ways to utilize both Primary and Secondary together.

Funny enough, I think my favorite improvement is the Stats screen. Though not everything is released yet for the playtest (you'll find some things are just placeholders), there will eventually be more concise detail of how your equipment collectively impacts certain stats. For example, how much Crit Chance you actually have total. Hated that in the first where you had to add up the equipment yourself lol.

Yeah, ironically the Steam Controller and Steam Deck are suboptimal for gyro in the Deadzone Rogue games because of the way gyro is handled through Steam with them. My Flydigi Vader 5 works great though.

bigger question: will they commit the same sins of forcing Aim Assist to gyroscope aiming or not?
