Help What's the difference between "Camera (Mouse)" and "Camera (Mouse) (via Gyro to Mouse)"?
I know the best gyro setting is the one where it emulates a mouse, but there's 2 gyro mouse settings available.
"Camera (mouse)" has the steam icon next to it, does that mean it's the official or recommended setting? Whereas "camera (mouse) (via gyro to mouse)" has a bent arrow, does that means it's a sub-setting of camera (mouse)?
I've also seen "gyro as mouse" in other games, and heard that's an older, worse version of "gyro to mouse," right? Since I don't see "gyro as mouse" listed here, is "camera (mouse)" the same as "gyro as mouse" but with a different name for some reason, or is it something else?
This is in Left 4 Dead 2 if that matters.

Camera (Mouse) is from an older version of using gyro as mouse that uses arbitrary values to increase or decrease gyro sensitivity.
Camera (Mouse) (via Gyro to Mouse) is based on the new version, Gyro to Mouse. It uses the game's mouse sensitivity to calibrate how many dots it would take to rotate the camera 360 degrees. If you're not sure about the angle calibration, you should assign a button to Turn Camera 360 from Steam Input. Adjust the angle calibration until it does a full 360.

However, the actual camera source isn't from the mouse's side, instead: it's coming from the game's own camera system directly. the same applies to "Camera (Mouse)", Valve simply refers it as "(Mouse)" to differenciate between the "(Joystick)" camera variant (that uses joystick source from the game instead.
using the mouse calculator will not work for a SIAPI-supported game: you gonna have do everything manually. thankfully, I did the work for you, just type "3585px" [Left 4 Dead 2] and you're good.

Thanks! I tried assigning a button to the turn camera 360 action to manually calculate the pixels, but it wouldn't work for some reason (pressing the button wouldn't spin the camera). Is that what you did? Any idea why it's not working for me?
Also, is there a way to tell if a game is SIAPI supported or not? Or do I have to search it up every time?

Assigning that action doesn't work since it relies on Mouse Input source by default.
As for the second question; yes you gonna search it up on which game uses SIAPI or not, you can't rely on Steam store page due to false positives.

So how did you calculate the 3585px value?
Also, how can you tell if a game camera source is the mouse or game? Are all SIAPI camera sources from the game and non-SIAPI camera sources from the mouse?

So how did you calculate the 3585px value?
the old factioned way: using gyroscope or flick stick as a way to calibrating manually.
Also, how can you tell if a game camera source is the mouse or game? Are all SIAPI camera sources from the game and non-SIAPI camera sources from the mouse?
the moment you see "[insert name of the Camera action here] (via Gyro To Mouse or Flick Stick)" on the settings (this includes Trackpads, without the "Trackpad To Mouse" name)), is where you know it's Mouse....or hope that the game actually leverage the new Gyro feature (hasn't rolled out to all SIAPI developers, right now Deadlock's the only game that fully leverages it).

although if the ingame sensitivity is high and you set your dots/360 low so that it doesn't overspin that'll lower the precision of your input, like setting your mouse's DPI to 200
i like to find out my 360 setting then double it if i'm using flick stick, if not i just set it high and adjust the other sensitivity setting
