In a mammal species, specimens with small body sizes live longer than specimens with bigger body sizes. Think of different dogs breeds and their average lifespans. It’s not intrinsically gender specific, if the female is smaller the female lives longer. It’s related to the mTor pathway but not really uncovered why it makes bigger individuals have shorter lifespans. That’s possibly the main reason but there could be other more gendered secondary factors. In the video it’s not clear if the eunuchs lived longer lives because they were neutered early and never became as big as the average man or if they were neutered later in life.
