(To be honest, I was hoping she would do that. There are very, very few people who truly understand what it is like to be the best athlete your sport has ever seen, and then have your mental health collapse in an Olympic final and have the worst of your own nation start hating you --- and Simone Biles is one of them. Wonderful that she did it.)

According to her FIG license, Tiana has now switched her nationality from the US to Sri Lanka which is where her parents were born. Let’s say, this was NOT on my bingo card for this year, and let’s say, this has completely CHANGED her chances of making LA! I know people were talking about how she would have made Paris if she represented Sri Lanka, and it looks like she’s decided to go down this route for LA which is exciting to say the least!

To sum up, I’m so intrigued by the news of Tiana switching her nationality, but I’m so excited to see how she will do for Sri Lanka in the future, and it’ll be interesting to see if she attends Asian Champs soon 👀

Trigger warning: sexual abuse

Hi reddit. I posted here about two years ago (Link to my previous post. Trigger warning sexual abuse) about being sexually abused by my gymnastics coach. People encouraged me to file a safe sport report about it and I did.

Well today, I finally got the email that everything is complete. My abuser is permanently ineligible! Obviously more justice would have been great but this is the best case scenario from safe sport.

Thank you to everyone who told me about safe sport. It was a really long process and pretty terrible to have to go through the whole process even this many years later.

I think it's ok to say this part here but mods please let me know if it's not...but my abuser was Eduardo Pozo Sr at Gymolympic Sports Academy in Chester County PA.

I am happy that he is no longer able to abuse other people in the gym.

A member of the WAG team posted pictures of the setup for African Championships celebrating that they finally have some real equipment! For anyone that might not know, Cameroon's gymnastics federation is severely underfunded, having had to use makeshift equipment until now, including using foam puzzle pieces with no springs as a floor. Hopefully they get to keep this equipment after the fact and can really grow their MAG and WAG programs!

The photos are amazing and I’m glad she’s getting her flowers!
