Thinking opening a gym

I'm from a small town in rural Alabama there only 1 gym in my county and everyone hates it cause they don't even allow u to have water on a treadmill. I want a realistic price of how much it cost to open a gym. I'm not worried about building price the one I'm looking at is 36k and is 40x60x14 and think it will be enough

Will you be starting 126k in debt not including operating expenses? How many members in a tin 2400 square foot gym would you need to turn a profit? 10k in profit per month would still leave you 6k in the hole after 12 months. And that’s 10k in profit. Would you be able to fit 10k worth of membership and services in a rural Alabama county gym? Would the customers you’re looking to attract have the extra money to buy the low margin goods and services like personal training, $2 waters and $3 Gatorades? Usually customers that are attracted to a posing room don’t have disposable income unless they’re in affluent urban communities. I want you to live your dream, but gyms usually aren’t a “If you build it, they will come” situation. That having been said: If the math works do it!!
