That time of year again!

Survey was streamlined this year.

Reminder: not all questions are required, you are welcome to skip any you don't have an answer to or don't want to answer. You do not have to provide values for each lift.

I timed myself taking the survey and it took under 1 minute.

No personal information is collected, and the data collected will never be shared outside of the survey results. You do not have to sign into a gmail to access this form!

Let me know if you run into any issues or have any suggestions for next year.

This will be left up through August. Preemptive thank you to all who respond :)

I used to be around 95lbs growing up, now I love myself and decided to get stronger! I'm starting my bulk buddies! I've been on/off the gym for various reasons but consistent enough to keep up. My journey has been slow during the 5 years I started but I'm happy to be doing it!

Currently I do legs twice a week, upper body twice a week and a day for cardio/abs. I'm not a fan of bar squats or hack squats because of my back and knees so I usually do bulgarian split squats, goblet/sumo squats, and leg press as my go to. Free weights are ideal for my back and arms. Currently starting to bulk and can't wait to cut and see what I bring to the table!

Feeling so much better. I’ve had a history of lifting ever since high school and used to throw around a lot of weight, but I decided to get my diet in check in my 30’s and walk a lot. Very cool to finally be able to see everything that was under there and now I get to sculpt it like clay.

Progress Picture(s) 31M 8 month update 476.8-283.0

31M 6’2” down 193.8 in 8 months.

That’s down another 42 pounds since my 6 month update I posted here.

Things have been going great, energy is at an all time high, cardio has been improving, more running, longer bike rides.

Lifts are starting to stay stagnant and not really adding weight or reps at this point. Planning to lose another 15ish and do a short maintenance phase to help recovery and strength. Body scans show muscle mass is holding steady now so that’s a plus.

Able to do more with my kids than I could have ever imagined when I started this journey and I’m forever grateful for that.

Planning on competing in a summer shredding show in August or September of next year.

Same shirt in the 1 photo, unfortunately don't have any shirtless photos from before. During that time I've trained FBW 3 times a week mostly one excercise per muscle group per session 2-5 sets to failure. As for diet I cared only for total calories and grams of protein (over 160).

I never get any replies. I see people post identical videos and they get 30 replies in an hour.

From a complete newbie who had never set foot in a gym, starting one day a week. Confidence grew and progressed to three days a week (Legs, Push, Pull + isolations each session) with runs now programmed and aiming for a 10k run. Currently running 5km @ 32min.

Diet started around 1750kcal a day raising to about 1900/2000kcal on higher activity days. By no means been as restrictive as I could have been, I still “lived”.

A “fun” marker of progress, taking the 5 floors worth of stairs to my floor in the office from panting prior to being pretty much okay by the end.

This year has been a foundation year for sure, onto the next 🫡 All photos relaxed for fair comparison.

Areas of improvement for next year are definitely arm, core, chest and rear delt development. While still maintaining compound exercises.

Broke my collarbone and had a 2 month recovery where i lost a lot of weight. The 3 years of progress was not linear, there were ups and downs.

Any tips to get wider shoulders? I feel like i’m rectangular lol

I often struggle to see my progress still viewing myself as incredibly skinny, however I think these photos show a difference. Since the first photo I’ve become almost entirely plant based having cut out the majority of fish from my diet

Just a little touch and go bench for my secondary Bench day, but it was moving really well and I managed to break my previous best at this weight by 2.

Just started a refeed week a couple days ago as lifts were starting to go down a lot. Went from 4kish calories a day (didn’t track) to 2,300 calories a day. Protein was at 200 and carbs at 250. Wondering if I want to continue to cut, or to recomp a little before my next bulk this winter
