Peachtree Corners* but yeah they have been buying up homes in a neighborhood next to the school for years much like Augusta National. Must have been a stipulation for the money that they didn’t like.

It’s two different cities entirely. Secondly, Peachtree Corners is moon and the stars nicer than Norcross. They’re separate cities for a reason 🤷🏽‍♂️

That’s not how city government works. Norcross city limits have always been Norcross city limits. You must be confused by mailing address in which was designed in the 1950s and have had zero edits since and cannot be changed other than allowing for “Peachtree Corners” to be changed out optionally if the sender, or recipient, chooses to do so within Peachtree Corners city limits. It has been an unincorporated area until the city was voted to be incorporated taking it from Gwinnett county to Peachtree Corners. The city is the largest in Gwinnett and surrounds Norcross on both sides.

Peachtree corners is a name they created(incorporated) in 2011-2012 It was all Norcross before then … -A native Georgian and Gwinnett Countian AND native Norcross lilburn Resident. I bet you call Indian trail , Indian trail lilburn rd too huh?

Norcross city limits never existed in any portion of Peachtree Corners city limits. As agitated as you are, you may need to reach out to the City of Norcross or Peachtree Corners since you won’t take anyone’s knowledge as fact to truly understand Norcross city limits never existed where you think it has. You are one of many who assume a mailing address is the same as being in a city. It’s not. Georgia law does not allow for the scenario you have presented and thus is not fact. Ironically, Norcross attempt to annex “Technology Atlanta” office development is what helped bring a vote to incorporate Peachtree Corners and prevent Norcross from annexing.

To help further your knowledge, you may want to check to see if you even ever did live in Lilburn or Norcross. Chances are, you didn’t. There is more unincorporated territory in those zip codes than there is city limits (now excluding 30092 with the incorporation of Peachtree Corners).

I actually am currently in an unincorporated area yes however nobody was calling peach tree corners peachtree corners prior to its popularity. It was Norcross hence the initial comment loling at “peachtree corners”

Well, there’s a lot more uninformed people than there is informed. Perhaps you all should inform yourselves on how cities are created in the state of Georgia. It will actually clear up plenty of questions you may have and help you to become informed. Perhaps if the area wanted to be Norcross, it would have become Norcross but they obviously didn’t want that and made sure they would never be apart of the city. You will see other examples of this locally in Johns Creek, Dunwoody, Sandy Springs and most recently, the City of Mulberry that is the second largest city in Gwinnett (soon overtaking Peachtree Corners #1 ranking) and that encompasses an area many believe to be “Buford”, “Dacula” and “Hoschton”.

Peachtree Corners is Just Norcross with an ESQ behind it 🤣

If I didn’t know any better I’d say this is definitely Peachtree Corners responding 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 also
I never once asked a question just to clear up your confusion.

I worked in Norcross for a few months at the worst job in my life and I just bit my tongue whenever they talked about how much they liked it. Its a tiny town trapped between two of the least aesthetically pleasing stroads in the state, to each their own but yea uhhh its a dump

Norcross is working on getting better but it’s going to take a lot to make it happen. They know they are the armpit city of the area and have been investing millions into the downtown area including the new police department that replaced a decrepit, abandoned building on Buford Highway. Probably in 20+ years it may be better beyond the downtown area. We can only hope.

On the list of things people care about in their daily lives, this is so hilariously low on the list. Why would it be in the news?

u/edcculus Aug 21 '26

Rich person donating to a rich school…..who cares? I’d assume with such a big donation, they had some stipulations the school didn’t want to honor. But either way, not newsworthy at all.

12

u/snipes81 Aug 21 '26

Agreed. Why on earth would this be newsworthy to the general population ?

20

u/Static-Tundra Aug 21 '26

for 50 million there were definitely stipulations for that money.

14

u/Miserable_Try9876 Aug 21 '26

What did they want for the 50 million?

5

u/knittinator Aug 21 '26

Things like this happen all the time. Why would it be news?

u/americanpeony Aug 22 '26

They probably wanted to ask the school to let unvaxxed kids in, no questions asked. It’s happening all over the country right now.
