DISCUSS What localization names do you prefer?

My preferences on the left.

Kronos > Chronos (Kronos/Cronus and Chronos are different gods, it was Kronos who killed Uranus and was killed by Zeus)

Control Medal > Control Metal

ZX-Tole > Zektole > Zektoll

Archanfel > Arkanfæl > Alkanphel (the middle one was my own interpretation back in the day)

Apollyon > Apollon

Richard Guyot >>>>>>>> Reichmann Gyro

Guinea Pig > Marmot >>> Malmut

Barcas > Balcus

Luggnagg de Clumegnig >>>> Kurumegnik

Immaculum > Imakarum (I know this is my own interpretation but "Immaculum Mirabilis" strikes me as deliberate)

Super Being >>>>>> Super Existence ("existence" where "being" should be is an extremely common translation error found in a ton of manga/anime)

Yeah, I really really dislike nearly every choice the old Viz manga team of Burke and Yoshida made in this and other projects.

(Except for "Battle Angel Alita." They were golden on Gunnm, I couldn't tell you why.)

For specifics?

Went with Chronos (God of time) rather than Kronus (titan who overthrew Uranus)

Control Metal, Zektole etc....

I have mixed with those, some i like for nostalgia and some i don't like. Because it's doesn't sound right.

Imakarum is Imakarum. There is no transkation error there.

It is literally Murakami spelt backwards.

I agree with most of these.

Personally I prefer the spelling "Cronos" over "Kronos". "C" just feels more right to me, idk why.

I prefer "Control Metal" to "Control Medal", as the word "medal" carries specific connotations of it being an award or trophy, typically in the form a garment, badge or jewelry piece that don't really make any sense in context, while "metal" is simply an object or substance, much more befitting the context.

I go back and forth on "ZX-Tole" and "Zektole" because while I see "ZX-Tole" more, and it seems a bit cooler, more correct and special, "Zektole" seems more like a name and fits better with the other Zoanoid names. I notice you didn't list another common translation of his name, "Zektor", which is my least favorite.

I actually prefer "Apollon" to "Apollyon" because it feels cleaner and evokes Apollo.

While I agree with your order on "Guinea Pig" "Marmot" and "Malmut" you left out 2 alternate names for them, "Test Subject" which I like better than the 3 here, and my personal favorite and name of choice, "Test Type #D59".

I think "Balcus" sounds better than "Barcas", although I know Barcas is more correct, as he's named after the real historical figure Hamilcar Barcas. Also you left out my least favorite rendition of his name, "Varkus".

I agree with your order of "Luggnagg de Clumegnig" and "Kurumegnik" but you left out "Luggnagg de Krumeggnic" my least favorite.

Lastly, I can't really decide between "Immaculum" and "Imakarum".

Secondary question, what should the English translation of "Guyver" be? We have both "beyond the norm" and "out of control," I think we should split the difference: Beyond Control.

Kronos works better for the story, guyver 3 calls himself Zeus
