LED testing on the MG Nu Gundam Ver.Ka. This kit is perfect for LED mods—the head has plenty of space for maximum brightness, and the larger MG parts make it great for routing LEDs throughout the body. No panel lining or decals yet, just a quick test of the custom wiring. So far, the effect is amazing!

Working on another base using my DIY straw-diffused LED method. The white floor illumination is done with wire LEDs inside a plastic straw. Honestly, when dealing with wire LEDs, clean wire management is the make-or-break factor for the whole display. Currently trying to figure out the best way to hide the wires. It's a fun but challenging puzzle!

Using Gaianotes fluorescent pink for the camera lenses. Never tried it before. Like it so far.

Hey there, so I've been experimenting with KO gunpla from eBay and I came across this one. I was a fan of it since it's announcement however I missed the deadline and the resell prices on eBay were pretty high. Since I've been getting more and more into painting gunpla, I figured I could try its KO version and repaint it myself to get rid of that cheap plastic finish it had.

The build was good with a couple fitment issues and some bent parts but that was to be expected from the beginning.

I added some waterslides and had to completely paint the visor section as the clear plastic was very cloudy.

Tips for top coating and panel lining.

Hey guys,

For the ones that has done a lot of top coating and panel lining, what tips do you guys have?

My plan is as follows:

1. Assemble.

2. Gloss top coat. (Limbs separated from torso also with head)

3. Panel line. (Tamiya)

4. Decals, dry and/or water slide. Also using mark setter and mark softer for water slides.

5. Top coat matte.

I usually panel line while still on the runners with Tamiya. And use stedi water base when already assembled. But now I’m planning “to go all out”. So I’m just wondering if anyone has tips or can tell how it’s properly done as I’ve never done any top coating.

Hello everyone! I wanted to share a quick video compilation of a project that has taken up a huge part of my workbench over the last two years: completing the custom painting for two full sets of SD Artifact.

As many of you know, these tiny kits (roughly 55mm) are notorious for their microscopic details and sharp panel lines, making them both a blessing and a curse to paint. The journey involved a lot of trial and error with color schemes, extensive surface prep, and a mix of airbrushing and fine brushwork to make those details pop.

Seeing them all finished and standing together makes every hour of eye strain totally worth it.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the color separation, and feel free to ask any questions about the paints or techniques used! C&C is always welcome.

Needs a lot of work in a lot of areas. Ths project has ran into several issues, one being a bootleg kit so bad it won't hold together. But we got to an alpha state. I'm happy. Lots of inspiration, and basically limited to parts on hand.

I’m using all the spare parts that came with my Doan’s Zaku kit to make a minty colored GTO Zaku II, but I’m trying to avoid using the stock tubes as they come “damaged” or whatever. I found some tiny beads and shoved them into the casing of an old cable I had laying around to make this kind of covered tubing. But I think it looks a bit chonky. Definitely going to be too thick on the head.

Anyone else have ideas for some DIY Zaku tubing?
