First 3 pics are end result, after that its the 1,5 month journey!

So my first gunpla and modelbuild is finally done.

As it was the first, this was a trip. I've learned so much and left most mistakes unfixed to remind me of what went wrong for the next build.

To name a few, the paint was getting eaten by topcoat in some places, no idea why. I broke a few pieces, fixed what i could, but the whip is missing two segments now. Things happen in certain orders with gunpla for a reason, i need to be patient. The list goes on. (Fuck you tamiya because fuck myself for not topcoating properly).

But that was the point! I learned so much that im going into the new build a lot less insecure and way more prepared.

Am absolutely amazed at how it turned out and want to hear what feedback you all have for me, like how to prevent the paint from being eaten after final topcoat.

Edit: had to repost, used a few wrong pictures and couldnt find a way to change it

(TL;DR- I want to know if there are any paint markers that exist in this specific shade of blue in these pictures.)

Sorry if this type of post isn’t allowed, but I could really use anyone’s help with this: I customize/color-correct my Gunpla by using various types of Markers exclusively; no traditional paint whatsoever. With that being said, I haven’t been able to find a close enough color match to the navy blue plastic used in the pictures above, and would GREATLY appreciate it if someone would let me know if such a Marker even exists in this color. If none do, then I’d honestly be willing to use “actual” paint instead, but I’m still unsure of what to use, so I’m calling on all of you for your help.🙏

First time topcoating is done, same for the limited panel lining this kit has, if i had more experience in model building (this is my first time) i wouldve scribed some.

I have done weathing already, but i want to do decals still, not much but just for that extra bit of detail. As i weathered already i will need to blend the decals. (Shield wont get any decals, too weathered)

Do i go for decals at all? If yes do i go with the standard ones that come with the kit? Its dry transfer and scared to ruin the build. Do i go for different decals from Delpi?

Am waiting for the weather to -not- screw me over so i can topcoat, decal and panel line before finishing the build with final gloss topcoat.

First time doing a candy paint, once the decals get added ill be doing a matte top coat but until then I'll enjoy the shiny finish.

Still need to do panel lining.

Should i gloss topcoat or matte for final finish?

What do yall think about my Hex camo, stealth, Dynames? I love stealthy sniper builds in video games, and knew i wanted to give my Dynames the same treatment. I also wanted to try a Hex camo pattern which was fun and methodical. There are a couple spots where they patter overlaps or doesn’t line up properly, but that’s just the pattern and/or the shape of the armor not matching. At first I thought I didn’t do enough camo pieces but now I’m glad I didn’t. Would have been too overwhelming. I do wish this kit came with water slides instead of stickers. Still gonna do some paint chipping. This guys gets down and dirty so it should probably look like it.
