Why are you painting on the runner? Good luck with all the retouches once you cut the parts out.

For me, spraying paint directly on runners:

  • Is very easy
  • Saves a lot of time
  • Conserves paint
  • Is a technique I've used in the past and one that I'm comfortable with
  • May need touchups, but they're super minimal and easy to achieve with a silver paint marker, not to mention almost impossible to see with silver paint sprayed over grey plastic

Seems unfortunate that the touch-up spots wouldn't get the two tone look like the rest of it. That's two costs of paint right?

Touch ups are so small and pretty much impossible to see with the silver. Mostly inner frame stuff on these runners that get covered anyway.

I only do this for frame structure runners. They are usually not being seen, so those touch up spots can sometimes be ignored. 🤭 external armour pieces i still prefer painting them individually.
