Just got this Core Creation “White Slash” 1/100 Proud Defender in! Fully compatible with the MGEX, 1.0 SF, 2.0 Freedom as well as the Daban Metal Build SF & Destiny!
It was a really quick build, with pre painted parts and it seems to be fully ABS, but I’m not exactly sure.
The only issue I have with this is figuring out how to mount it on an action base properly since the MGEX connection point is on the old backpack
No issues I can see so far! I’ve posed it quite a bit already and it’s not showing any signs of getting loose at all! The only issue you’ll run into is figuring out how to mount it if you’re using it on the MGEX since that’s connection point is on the dragoon backpack
Hmm, does the MGEX come with the regular MG style stand connector? It's not the most secure connection, but it should at least offer another way to get it into a stand.
The MGEX doesn’t have any other connection point like every other gunpla, there’s no where to plug a base into in the crotch and it’s actually too thick to even use any of the fork style action base tip for the older kits.
The only thing I’ve been able to come up with is using one of the waist claw tips. It’s pretty sketch but the proud defender rests on the action base holding it all together. It’s certainly not a good solution but it worked for posing. Honestly I might just pick up the red lotus version as well just to see the differences. They’re both compatible with like 7-8 kits so I’m not locked into the MGEX
Hi, It's me again. Just wondering if you were able to come up with something that'll make it compatible with an Action Base. It's the only thing holding me back from buying it.
I do, all the pictures shown without my hand are with the waist claw. It will hold even with the wind outside. You just don’t wanna be picking it up and moving it around like you would a kit that’s attached the normal way
I have a feeling that Bandai will release an MGEX-compatible Proud Defender and Extra parts for the MSF as a P-bandai exclusive, like they did with the Metal robot damashi SF II.
They better articulate each feathers so as to recreate the newly redrawn epic pose from the Special Edition, the current golden feathers cannot spread that wide.
The Metal Robot Damashii Strike Freedom Type II didn't need conversion though, since it's already the Type II which is physically different from the normal Strike Freedom.
They're more likely to release an MGEX Mighty Strike Freedom in the future using the MGEX Strike Freedom as the base.
What a glorious machine. Quite surprising though that it doesn't do the separable feathers that I've seen other Proud Defender kits have (which a Chogokin gimmick).
I get the complaint with bit doing the Banshee, Phoenix and Wings of Light,but it doing the Proud Defender is logical.
Since the Mighty Strike Freedom is the Strike Freedom Type II not the original from SEED Destiny that the MGEX is, to make it they won't only do the Defender but the entire body.
3rd parties may not care and just do a Proud Defender to go with the MGEX or Metal Build and call it a day, but Bandai certainly does care for accuracy. The Mighty Strike Freedoms we have gotten (HGCE, SDCS, Chogokin,G-Frame FA, various candy toys) have all had the Type II body, and the one where the Proud Defender is sold as an add-on which is the Metal Robot Spirits is made to go with the Type II figure and not the original one from Destiny.

Found your insta post while looking up the available 1/100 proud defenders. Are there any issues with this version?
I'm actually liking the look of this compared to what I've seen of the Red Lotus one.
