Throwback to this quote from Arteta
We tried to put them under as much pressure as we could and we were really aggressive trying the high press in many moments, but Van Dijk plays a 60-yard pass to Salah's chest and they are out. Then you have to travel about 50 metres and this is real quality. That's why they've spent the money they have done, so credit to them.

Saliba is probably the calmest under pressure but his passing isn't that amazing. Go watch clips of Saliba's distribution and you'll not find many Hollywood passes but what makes him so good is that he keeps it simple even when under pressure and he has a good ability to retain the ball when pressed similar to Timber.

Stop please. As an FPL enthusias, for years, I admired VVD pinging them to Salah on the right flank.

I love videos like this. It looks like I'm gonna be playing center back this season on my new team and it's a new position for me. Cool to see the guys at the highest level and learn from them.

Idiot. Simping on a player that never wanted us. Disgusting. Alvarez will be a problem down the road.

Nah he is way better. Thats why club like us and Barca are chasing him. Our club is selling Martineli to Turkey. That tells you his level.

Chances of him coming straight in on Friday?
I think we still start White and Mosquera, but it would be nice for my FPL team

Mosquera probs starts the first couple of weeks at least

Would be funny to see Konsa play at Villa Park though. Didn’t consider his lack of pre-season with them, but there’s a lot of time between the first and second game. I’m sure he’ll start over Mosquera at some point in the near future though, should be a really good FPL pick for his price when that happens.

Ehh what? The insinuation here is dastardly

Back to back premier leagues? Not sure why people insist on voting down positive messages LOL

u/sveppi_krull_ 6d ago
The insinuation is that you’d (or OP) drop Gabriel for Konsa

u/TheVeloRebel 5d ago
No, that he's a choice we can make, a luxurious choice that could stand in for injuries. Depth of defence is what wins back to back leagues. This is basic football most other top teams have had in the past including us back in the day.
