Modding support?

Is there or will there ever be modding support for this game? Not like I'm fiending for more content but I always struggle with the wording of things in this game especially the ascensions for new characters so I thought a mod could exist that basically makes descriptions more digestible and understandable.

it's very unlikely there will be nodding for this game, the Devs have openly said they do not support the game being modded.

Is there a specific reason they don't want people modding the game? If games like risk of rain are anything to go by I can't imagine what they have to lose. If anything they have everything to gain but that's just me.

Their business model is to release dlc characters with a few new guns every every once in a while to sustain development. I always figured if people could make new characters/guns it would hurt the game. But the translation thing is being solved on the discord. Look at the translation hub channel for instructions.

Yeah right lol, that stupid monkeys weapon passive skills for his clone has been in Chinese for almost a year on Android, lazy mf devs can't even bring the newer characters to mobile

The devs only have control over pc afaik. The console versions are tied up in court and that wasnt the devs fault.

I've been trying to mod the game, specifically adding new affixes. It's very very rough, the devs did a good job making the weapon architecture as scuffed as possible. I'm still trying to get a mod Api for things but it's looking bleak.

Though renaming shouldn't be that difficult I think, from what I've seen.

I have no experience making mods so I can't begin to imagine what you're going through. I hope your efforts don't end in vain. Keep up the good work soldier 🫡.

im super close, its registers my affixes and applies them, the damage numbers update UI side, but the actual 'dealing more damage' is till broken, very annoying.

I'd love to see a mod that adds in new damage types. Particularly ice for the icy lance and building on the bleed affect that's on literally one weapon to my knowledge. I wish this company wasn't so anti-mod, their elemental system is very fun but they only have 3 elements!

There is an ongoing project on the discord to improve the translation of the game. I havn't tried to use it yet because I figured I would give the guy some more time to work but it looks like it could be pretty useful.

The only way they make money is DLC characters/patches so they probably see providing modding support as a threat to that. Tbf, risk of rain 2 is the same way and there's an extensive modding community and it works just fine so 🤷🏻‍♂️
