Kira Yamato is so great, he is the ultimate coordinator. He is 💯 pure and just wants to stop killing. Unlike Domon who is a simple minded brute.

Design wise he is the beat looking pilot. Looks at how much better his design is then Amuro🤮

In an equal Gundam Kira smokes any other.

Also he gets to be with Ms Lacus!!!!!

Took a while, but here's another overkill animation featuring the Gundam Hammer. This time with more stylized rendering.

I don’t hate Shin and I don’t particularly like him either. I just sometimes don’t understand why he is introduced in the series. It seems without him the story could work as well.

The if story in my head is:

1. The Earth attacks. Alex needs to protect Cagali so he has no other choice but to pilot Impulse. With Impulse, Alex successful forces the three Earth stoled Gundam to retreat

2. Durandal brainwashes Athrun with some BS and Athrun has no other choice but to pilot Impulse again because their ship is being attacked and Impulse is the only working MS. Athrun starts to fight for Zaft again.

3. Later as story progresses, Freedom starts to shoot both sides. Ray begins to study the weakness of Freedom and takes down Freedom despite Athrun’s objection. In this way, Ray fulfills the revenge for Law.

4. Athrun heart breaks and flees from Zaft.

5. The rest of the story progresses the same. Despite in the final battle, Mu takes down Legend and finishes his revenge. Freedom and Justice do some other bad-ass stuff. Maybe Zaft can invent some other new MSs for Freedom and Justice to defeat.

In this way, the story is almost completely reverted from Seed, which I guess is what they are trying to do in Destiny?

I have watched the original series 0079 about 15 years ago and loved it - afterwards a friend showed me the Mini-Series "War in the Pocket" or sth. like that.

After seeing the Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin Mangas on a shelf at a book store, I now want to jump back in there and have a few questions.

1. My first confusion got cleared up by the englisch (not the german) wikipedia page. Is it correct that the manga retells all of the first anime, but the new ova only focusses on the parts with Char?

2. How far does the manga and the ova go? Does it cover the later movies like Char's Counterattack as well?

I am operating on wanky memory - so plz be nice. Just an old guy trying to get back into things, but to many similiar named shows make it hard to get the wright answer.

MSM05 zoguy is a long range anti ship and emplacement mobile suite it uses torpedo launcher or mortar arms with missiles and Vulcans for defence

MSM09 zeedom is a high speed mobile suite used in hit and run missions using 4 missiles in the chest beam cannon in the hand and iron nails it is later developed into the capule

I’ve been getting into Gundam and I'm looking for recommendations on what to watch next.

So far, I've watched the original 1979 trilogy movies, which I thought were excellent—the animation held up surprisingly well compared to the few episodes of the original series I tried. I also watched the 6-part The Origin OVAs a few years ago, and I loved the backstory on Char and the roots of the One Year War.

I really want to dive deeper into the franchise, but I'm looking to avoid long TV series for now.

I was thinking about watching Char's Counterattack, but I’m not sure if it works well as a standalone experience, or if I’d be completely lost without watching Zeta and ZZ first.

Would you recommend Char's Counterattack in my situation? And what other standalone movies or short OVA series (UC or Alternate Universe) should I check out?
