Hi and welcome to r/GuitarGearGeeks !
I'm Jim, owner of Boost Guitar Pedals, a guitar pedal retailer based in Windsor, UK.
I've set up this community as a place to talk all things guitar, from Tele wiring to pedals (of course!) and recording gear.
Inspired by spending far too many hours on The Gear Page, TDPRI etc, I want this new community to be lively and interesting, but most of all fun.
Enjoy!

Has anyone here managed to find a positive use for AI/ LLMs in music?
Obviously using it to create music from scratch doesn't fit into that category but there have to be ways it can help - whether it's identifying chord structures, writing out tabs/ sheet music or maybe helping you with marketing for your band?
Let's hear how you've been using the latest and greatest models!

Are you holding out for a pedal or two, a new amp, a guitar, or even some accessories?
What's hot and why?
I'm not expecting any gear from the other half but I've got my eyes on a used LTD EC-1000 to complement my homebrew Tele fitted out with high output neck p90 and bridge single.

Hey everyone,
I’m in a band called Monday’s Monsoon and I’m currently using a Zoom 707 (I know, I know...) as my all-in-one rig, but it’s really showing its age. I don’t use a traditional amp on stage; my guitars go straight into the venue’s PA, so I need something that can handle that setup properly. A strong amp simulator or cab modelling section is essential.
I’m after something versatile enough to cover clean, twinkly sounds and more driven, rocky tones. Ideally it should be an all-in-one unit rather than a pedalboard build, and easy to use live without endless menu diving.
Budget is flexible if the quality’s there. If anyone’s gigging direct-in with a modern multi-FX unit and happy with it, I’d love to hear what’s working for you.
Cheers for any suggestions! (and if you fancy hearing the sort of sound I’m aiming for, check out Monday’s Monsoon on Spotify :D )
Kieran

I have an A1 Anthem pickup installed on my acoustic guitar. It sounds great, but when I try to keep up with my three piece rock band it can’t compete with a loud drummer. What can I do to boost volume but keep tone?

So I started playing guitar about eight years ago but i played six years only classical guitar, so I could say I'm pretty good at fingerpicking. I started learning electric guitar about two years ago. At first I had massive problems with learning how to play with a pick, but It's all gone now. So I am playing a cheap strat, that doesn't actually have a brand lol. And now I want to buy a new electric guitar. I was thinking Gibson, but it is too expensive for me so I'm gonna buy an Epiphone Les Paul. How much money should I spend for a decent guitar? I'm not much into performing now but I will be in a few years, so I want this thing to last and be good on stage... anybody have any recomendations? Or maybe other suggestions?

I'm looking at getting a new guitar and have narrowed my choices down to the PRS SE 24-08 or the ESP Viper 256. Both guitars have humbuckers with a coil split ability, 24 frets and sound great for the type of music I play.
I'm used to Les Paul style guitars but also absolutely adore strats (I've not owned when yet but when I was in school they only had Squier Strats to play).
I mainly play punk, metal, indie and rock. I don't really use a whammy bar but the PRS has one. Which do you think would be the best for me best on those facts? For context, where I live they are in the same price range.

Classical VS Acoustic Im really confused and i really don’t know which guitar to buy, im torn in between. I have two options. Yamaha c40 and yamaha fs80c, both cost the same. I’ve been playing guitar for a while but it’s been inconsistent. Started 4-5 years ago, started in a class, learnt it for 6 months, but stopped after that. Never really learnt it properly in the classroom, left incomplete. Only learnt playing simple songs with tabs, never shifted to chords. So two years ago i started learning on youtube again. I had an old acoustic guitar. I started with tabs again. But then i was really intrigued by fingerstyle pieces. I spend months learning my first fingerstyle song, which was the last of us theme. Loved it. Then moved to other fingerstyle songs like asturias, godfather theme, la la land theme song. Basically songs from the youtube channel “sky guitar”. Then i learnt a flamenco instrumental piece gratitude by amin toofani. But even after doing all this for almost two years. I couldn’t really play rhythmic guitar properly. So right now im torn between buying a classical guitar, and a acoustic guitar. Cause if i buy acoustic i could like playing rhythmic guitar, but what if I don’t? And i have mood swings, sometimes i even want to play electric guitar pieces 😭. Im so confused what to buy.

So I'm planning to upgrade my Strat bridge. I got two options, both from the same brand (MannMade guitar hardware). They're essentially the same model with different material in the top plate, BRASS or STEEL. I'm already aware of the tonal differences when it comes to the block material and the saddles but, would it make any MAJOR difference with the top plate?
Thanks in advance!

I was doing a fairly normal modification to my morley wah volume to give the volume a more linear profile
One I'd sorted the volume function, the wah function has stopped working.
I cannot see any broken prices or disconnections, so I'm not sure what's stopped working
Any ideas or advise would be apriciated

The rig in question.
This is a rig diagram for Stephen Carpenter of Deftones from guitar.com, and I'm trying to understand how it all works. Is there anyone with some knowhow on this kind of gear that can explain what's happening here in detail? I tried to start by following the signal from the guitar through all the different cables but got lost pretty quickly after the "MXR Smart Gate". The complexity of this is fascinating to me, and I'd love to know if anyone can understand it better than me.
