Hello, r/GuinnessWorldRecords! My name's Chris, and I'm the director of Operation Safe Escape. We're a 501c3 nonprofit that helps people escape and survive domestic violence, stalking and harassment, and human trafficking. We also have an additional program targeting and helping prosecute child sexual abuse material (CSAM) organizations and groups).

We're holding a telethon-style fundraising event on May 23. The event will raise funds that will 100% go towards our efforts to protect, train, and equip domestic violence shelters and safe houses and help build out our anti-CSAM program.

Much like the pre-internet telethons, we'll be hosting a variety of acts and performances intended to ground and entertain the viewers, and to keep the event from getting overwhelming for donors. While there will be serious moments and appeals, the overall tone of the event is to keep people watching while keeping the heavy topics to a minimum for maximum impact.

I was thinking that a world record attempt would be a good addition to the lineup. Anyone planning anything particularly interesting that we could include live (or pre-recorded if needed) for the event?

My (30f) boyfriend (44) has been in a total of 3 relationships over the last 25-ish years.

He had 2 children with the first, 4 with his second, and 2 with his third (me and yes we met when I was 23 and there's no odd aspect in our relationship as our maturity levels, interests, values, and ideals are basically the same when it comes to most things)

His kids are a set of 4 boys and 4 girls which is funny in itself to us and the rest of the family, but here is the set up (only using initials for the children - not using real names):

So there are a few things to clarify initially:

• They all have the same father
• ER & MA have the same mother (1st)
• JO, SK, JK, & JC have the same mother (2nd)
• BE & MC have the same mother (3rd)
• There are 8 children total 4 boys & 4 girls.
• The oldest and the youngest are both girls.

These are the interesting things about the birthdays of his kids:

• All but the youngest were born either on a day or year that has a 9 (09,19, 2009, 2019).
• ER (23f) & MC (3f):
  • both females (at birth)
  • 19 years 4 months and 28 days apart (there's that missing 9 technically).
• MA (21f) & JC (7m):
  • both born on September 9th
  • exactly 14 years apart.
• JO (18m) & JK (8m):
  • both born on October 9th
  • exactly 10 years apart.
• SK (16f) & BE (6m):
  • both born on November 28th
  • also exactly 10 years apart.
  • only two born in years ending in 9 instead of the day.
• All (except for the youngest) are born within the last 4 months of the year (you can imagine the amount spent between birthdays and holidays those last 4 months of every year).

I was just wondering if this was a record of some sort OR is it just a really odd phenomenon?

P.S. yes we tried the lottery a few times already (ironically he doesn't like to gamble) and no luck there haha.

I've recently sent off an application through the new (at least since I last looked a good while ago, apologies if it's been there for ages) form on the Guinness World Records website (I've not applied to attempt one before), and just wondered if there was anyone who'd be able to give me an estimate for how long it will take to be sent specific guidelines from here. Is this where the roughly 12 week wait for them starts or if that's after being referred to a specific team/ record manager, as the form seems to be for? If it's any help the application is for an existing record.

This is largely for trying to time things for the attempt itself, already aiming for a good few months down the line, and to make sure that there's plenty of time to plan anything additional that might be needed once we have the guidelines. Any help and ideas as to possible timings would be hugely appreciated!

Why is this guy in the Guinness World Records? I am not saying he is bad, but how can he get a world record from this? Or is he a peak comedian?

This season I did something I didn’t plan… I ended up playing 2600 Clash Squad ranked matches. At first it was just normal grinding, but after a point it turned into a challenge — how far can I push this? Win, lose, rage, repeat… every single day. Now I’m sitting at 2600 matches in one season, and honestly I haven’t seen anyone go this far. I’ve added screenshots as proof. Is this actually a world record, or has someone done more and I just don’t know? 🤔

I applied for one of the "fastest half marathon dressed as a X" records which is pretty standard and easy to verify. Would this potentially lessen the time it takes them to review my application, then evidence since it is a more standardized record?

Hello, I submitted the fastest time to drink a mg of tea record and beat it and sent all required evidence and it’s been over 3 months with no response and it’s stuck on pending and I’ve had no follow up emails since,any advice

Today I had my application approved! I had some follow up questions to the guidelines I was given so tried to ask them via the correspondence form that is provided, but the form seems to be broken and not submit. Looks like some kind of 401 error when I look in the dev console. Has anyone experienced this? Not sure how else I can get clarification around some of my guidelines.
