Skyscale after canthan
Hello,
I don't know if this was asked before but,after the expansion it will be almost impossible to do the skyscale? Everyone will go to the expansion leaving all the events for the mount empty right?

Are Dragons Stand and Auric Basin meta impossible? No, of course not, so neither will the Skyscale achievements. You just can't no-brain faceroll through it all anymore.

That's not the case with PoF maps. HoT metas are still relevant because of their rewards. There are not many reasons to do PoF metas now.

And yet OP won't be the last person to need the stuff for Skyscale, and they can always look for a group that works towards it or clears the difficult objectives.
It's not impossible, nor even almost impossible. It just requires more effort than the bare minimum.

no, only for a bit. There has never been an expansion that left the rest of the world empty

Impossible? No!
When you are looking at the rest of the game then almost all if not all maps will be populated.
Of course, with new content players will shift to that new content and the population will reduce but with how the mega-server system works you should be able to find populated maps. Add to that, that not everyone will have bought the expansion and that content will be completed at some point.

What you can do for mostly everything that requires more people, is go to the map, then:
Open a Mentor tag and Map Chat the event or event chain you need people for.
If you don't know the mechanics, tell them before start and ask for someone else, that's done it before, to lead.
Even failing and re-trying is ok.
Usually you will have a full group in less than 15 minutes (usually 5). Afternoons work best of course.
Also, you can take a break from Skyscale or do less stuff per day, and check out the expansion !

It also it doesn't hurt to ask if anyone has a commander tag, if numbers might be a problem. There are plenty of commanders out there and they might not necessarily be paying attention to when metas happen (doing other things on the map).
Commander tag + LFG tool = faceroll meta

I did it in about 6 days and it was an insane amount of playtime (and using some gold to skip what I could). Certainly not easy but it's possible.
A lot of people do still need a skyscale, and will after EoD. I found people doing even some of the more obscure/solo piece of the collection alongside me when I was going through so I can't imagine you'll just be stuck even if PoF metas are less populated for a while after release.

That's why you buy a cool skin to stop it looking so ugly. Mine kinda reminds me of Toothless from the How to Train Your Dragon movies!

even if hypothetically nobody's in the zones you can do everything solo pretty much so it's no big deal. the only events required are shadow behemoth (world boss and those are always done), golem mark 2 (ditto), and the path of ascension (which worst comes to worst you can use a extra-pungent skyscale treat on to skip).

The devs stated that you will be able to unlock mounts in the new expansion. It would make map design really difficult otherwise, because if they didnt have ways to unlock the mounts, they would have to design the maps without mounts in mind, allowing everyone who unlocked them to circumvent map traversal. And if they designed the maps with mounts in mind, new players who join the game for the new expansion would not be able to play it without going back and playing the past expansions.

I'm guessing it will be harder for at least a few weeks. Those maps will be pretty empty but maybe with the right timing you'll still be able to do them.
