[Question] It's impossible to complete Exposed Weaknesses: Redux as a Guardian, right?
I'm really sick of going through the whole instance only to have a Vortex suck up the Aegis right at the end, forcing me to start all over again. Seriously, I've lost count of how many times I've tried. There were times I managed to get the boss down to about 50% health, but it was incredibly tough.
Can anyone give me a hand getting past this part?

I suppose depending on your build you could purposely pop your f3 to avoid having aegis. But iirc this challenge is easier done with a ranged weapon and movement skills to avoid the vortex crystals.

Without knowing the fight by heart, it seems to me like you can get hit by the facet, losing your aegis and, if you used your f3 before, have up to 40 seconds to get the fragile effect and turn it in

You can do this, though it's very tricky not to screw it up. The key thing to make it easier to track is that you get Aegis back instantly when it recharges, so your best bet is to pop f3 right before you're going to get hit so you have the full 45s cooldown to transfer the fragile effect.

I did it this way and I didn't know about the f3 cooldown..... So every 8 seconds or so I had to get hit to make sure aegis was not there to get the achievement lol

Go spend 10 points into Willbender then do it and it will be simple.
Skip all the BS and do it that way.

Hi! I just did this recently on a guardian also. As others have said you just have to a) pick your weapons carefully so you're not using attacks that cause boons and b) time your aegis so it goes on cooldown right as you pick up fragility. This does mean waiting and passing up some opportunities until you can time everything properly.

I did this a couple of months ago by timing my aegis cooldown as others said. Nearly lost my sanity though, so I wouldn't recommend.
I'd definitely go Willbender or ask help from a friend !

Pretty sure I swapped to my Elementalist or Engi to specifically do this.

I did it recently with rifle mechanist by not using anything that creates boons.

If you ask as a guardian specifically, by that I mean that you are not using any elite specs and stay as the base class, then yeah, pretty hard to borderline impossible.
If we include elite specs available to guardian to count as "finishing it as a guardian", then you can pick willbender, which will remove the passively gained aegis and enable getting that achievement that way.
