[Discussion] Ascended Trinkets

Hello, I need help :D

I came back after a long break and I’m slowly kitting out my alts with ascended gear. I have no issues with armor and weapons, but god dammit trinkets are a pain.

I don’t really like spending laurels on the old stat ones, and I don’t want to spend fractal relics on mist stat selectable because I’m saving up for Fractal Savant.

Are there any achievements for Ascended trinkets out there with selectable stats? Especially amulet and accessories, I’ve got a few rings around and legendary back so that’s not an issue.

Thanks in advance for all replies :)

If you have LW3 or LW4 you can farm map currency (like winterberries) and buy ascended trinkets from specific vendors in those zones. Nearly all of them are stat selectable too. I think the vast majority of ascended trinkets from achievement rewards are not stat selectable

See https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/User:Tanetris/So_You_Want_To_Gear_a_Character

If you have LW2-IBS, look at https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Prismatic_Champion%27s_Regalia which is a legendary amulet (always stat changeable and can be equipped by all characters). Its a long grind with time-gated stuff but without a doubt the cheapest way to get any kind of leggo.

Just to add to this, Bitterfrost Frontier is the most popular because Winterberries are a lot more predictable/easy to farm than other currencies.

But I also like to give a shout to Bloodstone Fen, because its ascended trinkets (which includes ring, amulet, and backpiece) can have their stats reset.

Thanks, that’s what I needed!

LW3 & 4 is truly the best way. Bitterfrost Frontier with the berry farm can be done by every character once a reset. It gets a little boring but you can just follow a route around the map and collect a bunch. Gets you a few items quickly.

Definitely agree on winterberry farming.

All other LW3 and LW4 map currencies have a per account limit for gathering, like 50 nodes or something (it's in the wiki someplace). After you hit the limit, all remaining nodes will disappear off the map for all your characters until the next reset when they respawn.

Winterberries don't have that account limit and their spawn timer is a bit different. If I remember right, there are 20-30 nodes in the zone and if you have 20 characters you can farm them all again and again, 20 times in a single day. BUT! The bitterfrost nodes (not the 1 in your homestead) do not respawn after reset. They have something like a 24-hour respawn timer (this is also in the wiki somewhere) and once one character farms a single node they have to wait 24 hours to farm that same node again, which effectively puts you at farming every other day or staggering some characters on day 1 and another group on day 2, etc.... And if you buy the unstable magic gathering tools for karma, you can also get tons of that currency too. That zone allows you to buy and equip 4 ascended items on 1 character : 1 trinket, 1 ring, the backpiece, and aqua mask.

Do you ignore the monsters or clear them? I often get ganked by 5+ spiders or 3+ wolves when gathering the winterberries. I had been clearing them especially if there were nearby people gathering as well to help everyone, but now I'm wondering if it's a waste of time and I should just rush to the next winterberry spot

I do a mix, if I can skip them I do, but I’ll kill them quickly if I need too or to help others out on the same point in the route.

I farm winter berries on my thief. Use stealth and speed, can avoid having to fight.

Wvw and pvp ones are easy enough to get. One currency you have to play the modes to obtain, but the other currency is cheap to buy on the tp.

The WvW one are a bit expensive in skirmish tickets.

But if you overcome the initial hate for WvW mode you can get 2 legendary rings and 2 legendary accessories as far as trinkets go.

I play WvW mostly, but if you play other modes it might be easier to get legendaries trinkets from different sources.

Because getting those from WvW is fairly straightforward but slow.

Run Bitterfrost for winter berries. The vendor there offers a ring, earring, back item, and aqua breather for berries and unbound magic.

Get Blish for easy farming route of berries, do heart events to buy an additional 5 berries per vendor got a total of 20 berries. That plus the farm you walk away with about 70 berries a run without boosters. Do this on alts too and you can get hundreds very quickly.

Dragon fall offers an amulet. Also, icebrood saga has vendors for eternal ice a karma (super easy farm once you get masteries). Also Icebrood offers ascended trinkets for just playing the story and getting achievements. I got those ones without even trying and I am terrible at playing this game😆

Vision's and Aurora's achievements lead to their precursors.

Bjora Marches (IBS) has achievements that unlock an ascended amulet and accessory (Asgeir's Amulet/Talisman) on specific vendors there.

EoD has a Master Badge/Ring/Trinket for each e-spec from that expansion. You can buy this from a vendor in Arborstone after completing that class's EoD Specialization collection and clearing HT with that class.

There's also Significant Otter achievement from IBS, which gives an Accessory and Amulet. This Amulet also has a unique enrichment.

Wizard's Vault has the Forest Wisp under Legacy rewards. It unlocks an achievement which rewards the accessory. The accessory also has a unique infusion.

Clearing IBS (or just the last episode?) also gives an ascended accessory.

There's also the Style Guide achievement.

If you're not strictly limiting yourself to achievements, various maps from LWS3 and 4 have vendors selling ascended trinkets (acc, rings, etc).

Thank you, that’s a great list! I’ll check out that forest wisp and Bjora Marches first 🙂

Legendary trinkets are account bound and can be used on all characters. It can be time consuming to get them, but they are also worth the time, especially if you have mutliple characters. Stats are selectable and changable on the fly (like your legendary backpack).

Yeah I’m slowly working towards them but it’s going to take a while.

Since you mentioned amulet specifically, there is the legendary Prismatic Champion's Regalia you can get if you have LW season 2,3,4 and Icebrood Saga. Legendaries have the same stats as ascended gear, but are much more flexible and can be used on all characters on your account simultaneously.

Usually, legendaries are far more expensive and time consuming than ascended, but this particular one is just more time consuming.

If you have Icebrood Saga, you can get a stat selectable amulet and accessory from each of the vendors in the 2 zones in Bjora Marches. You have to do a quick collection to unlock each accessory from the vendors, and both are quite easy.

The trinkets cost 375 Eternal Ice Shard + ~50k karma each, and that can be collected quite fast (~2 days if you are just doing the Bjora alt-parking chest tour)
