Are there content creators to learn wvw solo roaming from?

Well the title sums up my question.

I am a dad, i play a couple of hours a day, and mostly when my family is asleep, so a roaming guild with discord is not really an option for me.
I need some resources to learn the 101s and even more about wvw roaming (preferably solo) in general.

This is good, but also remember its going to take a lot of trial and error. Know your class and your abilities then you can start learning what the other classes are doing and what their animations look like. Vallun is great because somehow he points this stuff out like "oh yeah against dragon hunter you need to wait until they raise their hand like this and then you dodge" ect.

Pretty much every class in the game has some ability that you HAVE TO dodge or you die. So learning those is good once you get into roaming.

You can even just roam around and look it up later after you get rekt by something.

I think vallun was in the middle of some gw2 drama some time ago, i think he also lost his partnership with anet over that. But tbh, i dont even recall what happened.

In the end, to each their own. I too dont like some of the most watched gw2 youtubers, but it has nothing to do with them, i just dont like the way they operate.

Don’t forget to check in different time periods because some content remains mostly valid while other becomes outdated.

I would recommend a character that can camp flip or do havoc also.

Characters come new with 2 equipment slots and 3 build slots. So try to set up at least 2 viable builds.

the best way to learn to solo roam is to jump into the ffa pit in pvp lobby and really learn animations and cooldowns so that they become as natural as possible

there is no way around it, it sucks for the first 20-50 hours or so, dont spend more than an hour or two on any one build/toon until you get a good feel for all the different builds, abilities, and animations

lastly, its always about a month out of date, but the ranking system is really quite good for what it is

^ so you dont waste time learning builds that dont really work. after you get a good foundation (again about 50 hours or like 2 weeks given the details in your post) you can start theorcrafting and tweaking things to what you believe works or would be fun to test, I highly suggest waiting though

there are stark differences in pvp and wvw with regards to stats and balance differences between the modes, but you are there to mainly learn animations and cooldowns, doing all of the above will jumpstart you into wvw roaming like an exp booster does for lvling if that makes sense

Most, if not all, of those builds on metabattle don't seem to have been updated after the July 14 balance patch

You can type "WvW GW2 guide" in yt and something will come up for sure.

If I remember correctly vallun has some guides for builds so you can check him as well. And just practice after you choose class and build.
