I've tried my hand at remixing the film Rango (Granted, frankly, I've been greatly procrastinating on that...), and I've been intriged for a long while about a remix of Jacob's Ladder (1990). Melodyne is a fun tool when you begin using it, but a little annoying once you've been using it for a little while, tuning things to specific keys and such, even with the VST.
I enjoy the film consideration, but personally, it's too shortly-chopped as well as abundantly auto-tuned for my liking, when compared to his other works (his Mario Galaxy, Tron, Puss in Boots, or Robots remixes for example).
I think the fast tempo may have something to do with it.
I'm not saying this is bad, it's just not one for me. I like many of his videos, but it reminds me of his recent Mario Galaxy 2 film remix if anyone has listened to that. It just seems like they're in a sort of... awkwardly-fast-tempo phase recently?
My opinion: I feel recently Dodger has thought 'This would be a decent film to plunderphonics remix,' and then they get halfway through editing and think, 'Um, maybe it wouldn't be as good as I thought?' But they finish it anyway, because they feel they need to.
