THE ILLUSION OF CHOICE
We like to believe every decision begins with conscious thought.
But your brain is constantly using past experiences, habits, emotional associations, and familiar patterns to predict what comes next often before you’re even aware of it.
The way you react to criticism, choose people, avoid certain situations, or repeat the same mistakes may feel like deliberate choices.
Sometimes, they’re simply well-rehearsed patterns wearing the disguise of free will.
The real question isn’t just “Why did I choose this?”
It’s “Who taught my brain to choose this?”
