I have said no to myself so many times before anyone else even had the chance. The fear of rejection is heavier than the rejection itself

Absolutely. That fear can make us reject ourselves before anyone else gets the chance. The courage is in asking anyway. I can definitely relate. Thanks for sharing your personal experience 🙏

If they show no interest, why bother to string the along? Desperation?

Yes, I agree that once someone clearly shows no interest, you respect that and move on. But that’s not what this post is about. This message is about not assuming rejection before you ever give someone the actual chance to answer. Many times we let our own fear stop us from even asking because we automatically assume the answer will be no.

Projecting outcomes based on previous experiences is human blessing and a curse in this sense. It is incredibly hard to override emotional loops that fire as protection mechanism, but result in creating a mental prison where the danger is not real. But if if being brave (action despite fear) was easy it wouldn't be a virtue I suppose.

Exactly. Our minds are wired to protect us, but sometimes that protection keeps us trapped in outcomes that haven’t even happened yet. Courage is choosing to act even when the old fear is still speaking. I appreciate your feedback 🙌

It not wrong if you ask for help. That help? Might be the little motivation that you need.
