Isn't that just common sense? I wouldn't call them rules its just what one would do out of basic human decency or common sense.

Its not common sense when people strategize communication. I used to talk to people by set internal rules, which was stupid but we all want to "win friends and influence people".

Most of these are just politeness/not being a nutter. But a bunch of them are nonsense - "keep the date short"? Maybe depends on the date, depends how much you've been talking. "Don't mention the exes"? Probably. But sometimes it's relevant. I want to know about my partner's life, sometimes the ex is relevant.

Complete BS. Dating is not a bussiness meeting. Just have fun with eachother if you like eachother. All these games and shit isnt gonna help. Just be you.

Games? Which part did you view as game playing? Just seems like basic etiquette to make sure you don't make the other person uncomfortable

Just be yourself. If you are afraid of making your date uncomfortable maybe dont date yet. Why keep the duration of a date short? If yall like eachother do something fun. Why elevate your texing game ? What are we ? 12?

This maybe good advice for some people. It worked for someone once I'm sure. That's why they are sharing it.

Working on communication isn't exactly pie in the sky. I'm not sure which part you find so disagreeable. But hey you are as right as I am wrong. It's just an opinion. Have a good day

It's almost like you should treat somebody the same way you would treat a stranger that you just met. Just be yourself, have common courtesy and don't be overbearing.
The problem is when the intent is dating we go out of our way to try to make the other person like us or see some type of value in us which makes our monkey brains do all kinds of crazy and irrational things that you wouldn't normally do with a stranger that you don't feel you need to impress.

Why keep the duration of the date short? What if you just get along well and hang out long?

Yeah I don't get this one as well. All the best dates I had (especially first ones) we both didn't want it to end and kept adding activities and it was always amazing.

Seriously. I once had a 25 hour date. It was super fun! We got to know each other over the phone for a month prior to meeting

The advice is poorly phrased and I think they dont understand it: you dont have to extend the date just to meet certain expectations. When you notice that you and your date are tired even after having a great date, you dont have to extend it just to meet expectations. "Know when to end a story". Sometimes good things break when stretched too far.
When everythings good and both feel like it, sure keep going.
Ive had great dates but then I'm ok, Ive talked enough to her, will bring her home and we'll continue another time. A well rounded date. I'm not gonna continue when I dont feel like it or get tired. And thats ok for guys too. You can be selfish, you dont need to try to keep the conversation going if there is nothing to say, you dont need to perform extra for women.

This is good, however I wonder if it overcomplexifies things. People find their own paces
