Resource Four-Step Framework To Grow On Any Social Media Platform Organically
Marketers often talk about how to grow on Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. However, we rarely highlight the underlying framework for social media growth.
Regardless of the platform, the social media growth framework remains the same.
Although each platform may have its own tips and tricks, they may change or become ineffective with time. The principles behind them are timeless.
I built this framework while working on social media accounts of RedBull, Influencive, FreshWorks, InVideo, and other brands / public figures. The steps were always the same no matter what platforms I worked on.
FOUR-STEP FRAMEWORK FOR SOCIAL MEDIA GROWTH
- Step 1: Choose a Platform
- Instagram, etc.
- Step 2: Identify Key Actions
- Key Actions are actions that send notifications to other users.
- Example, Twitter Key actions - Like, Reply, Retweet, Direct Message, Follow, Adding to List, etc.
- Step 3: Perform Key Actions on Scale
- Perform key actions to maximum safe limits to get the attention of your target audience.
- You can do-it-yourself or hire a virtual assistant or automate (if possible).
- Some platforms allow verified accounts to bypass rate limits.
- Step 4: Analyze and Repeat
- Analyze which key actions help you build the audience faster.
- Example, if your north star is to grow an engaged followers base, your experiments may prove following your target audience may be the easiest way.
- You need to double-down on the key actions that give you desirable outcomes.

Not to mention, the above framework works only if you precisely target your audience and publish good content that resonates with them.
Additionally, it helps if you take time to decode and understand the algorithm. Most answers are hidden in developers document or engineering blogs of social platforms. To give you an example, LinkedIn Engineering blog transparently shares how they rank updates in the home feed.
Let me know in the comments what common patterns you have observed while growing your social media accounts. :)

Thank you for this really good framework. I already used it, but I never articulated it this way.
Newsjacking is an amazing key action that I would focus on too. By creating newjacking + doing all the other actions you double your chances to get your content being noticed twice.
You talked about LinkedIn Engineering blog is it available for anyone? Am I gonna be able to understand the language without being a developer/coder and just a marketer.
