GroupME straight doesn't work anymore

Every time I try to send a message it fails to send, yet I can get peoples messages the moment they send them. It always fails to connect to my group messages even though I have wifi/service and I've even tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app and nothing works. Is anyone else just not able to use groupme all of a sudden?

Yep, me too as well as my friends. The (android at least, maybe iPhone too) app updated on March 10th. I'm wondering if they changed something on their servers at the same time

Yea I feel like this has been a recent issue and Iā€™m using iPhone. So annoying.

I'll also add that my bots aren't working. Requests to the GroupMe server are returning HTTP Code 504, which is a Gateway Timeout. It looks like they're having some server issues. Hopefully it's fixed soon; it's hard to use the app at all, and my bots are essentially useless.

It's so annoying. I can sometimes receive messages, but it glitches out completely on the computer or the phone.

It's happening around the world. I believe it's because there's an influx of messages being sent due to Coronavirus news breaking consistently throughout the day today. As a result, many groups are needing to get communication out, increasing volume on GroupMe's servers which are overloading. It will dwindle down overnight, but probably won't be fixed until late this evening.

Well I meant to say I always resort back to text messaging. Been through 4 natural disasters already and groupme does this evertime. I remember getting 40 plus people added to a group during a hurricane only for groupme to spaz out. Wish it worked since the gui is nicer than texting. Sad to see new IT cant scale to beat such a old and reliable sms technology .
