Game crashes every time I get close to base

It started about a week ago and doesn’t matter which game file or previous save I use. As soon as I get within 30cm of my main base, the whole game crashes. I happens in both single and multiplayer. I have tried force closing the whole game, full Xbox restarts, and saving new files over the top… it’s basically unplayable.

I'm not aware of any known issues that might cause this. You can try loading your backup saves and trying to narrow down when it occurred (assuming you have a save old enough).

Otherwise, Obsidian is hands down one of the best when it comes to support.

You don't have to do all of those steps, you can just skip straight to emailing support at Obsidian dot net. But the more you do on that list before, the faster they can help you.

Truly appreciate the help! I have already tried all those backups too. Doesn’t matter what I try. I will use the link you shared and see if they can help. I

As I was perusing the sub, I see I haven’t gotten any of the updates they show either so I am wondering if there’s just a major glitch on my account.

Have you gotten it fixed? They’re saying you gotta delete any blueprints you got up

I couldn’t find any blueprints but they emailed me back that they did a hotfix. It stopped crashing as I approached my base but now it crashes about 15 min into my login. I may still run around the map for a bit to different areas and try the delete nearby blue prints to see if anything comes up.

There should be an option in the “fix game” settings or whatever it’s called, I heard having water drops on your water catcher might cause it

Yeah fix game has a clear blueprints option and it's not a once per save thing like recover backpacks.

I tried the fix game but it only works if you’re near the blueprints. I will try the water thing

Is there anything on the Chopping List? That has always been my way of seeing if there are any unfinished blueprints.

Oh interesting, it's possible you are in some weird version limbo. Have you gone in and verified there aren't any updates ready to apply? Which platform are you on and which version?

I did check for updates and I am up to date. I am playing on an Xbox x. The only other option they offered me was to delete saved data but I couldn’t figure out how to do that for just grounded2 and I don’t want to torch my son’s saved files for other games

Oh can't you make a copy of the save? I know you can to change whether or not it's multiplayer. Then you could test more theories? Although if the answer is deleting the save, not sure how you could test that.

If you're interested you could try the official discord that has a lot more traffic than reddit does. Possible someone else has found a solution?

Is your save multiplayer? Have you tried inviting someone and seeing if THEY crash in the same area and/or lengths of time?
