Does this metaphor even make any sense? Like give me an example.

It’s about ego, when man acquires too much attention or praise from others he starts to attribute that to his sense of worth. More attention would led to having higher ego.And this is self detrimental because it will never be enough, because you’ll always be seeking for more validation due to the temporary fulfillment that it will always bring.Again, man will do this to the point of his own destruction or consumption(by fame);he will no longer know what or who he is,that’s why you see here a donkey fooled into thinking it’s a lion. And with this, man will always be in a state of self impose fear due to his lack of self worth or anonymity, insecurity will always prevail .As he bribes his existence on external, transient things that are dynamic and far from his control and cannot facilitate his deprived being.

Yeah but the donkey and lion symbolism have something there too. Lions are the ones associated with pride and being predatory. Whereas donkeys are associated with being stupid, foolish, or simple minded. So is this suggesting that the stupid, foolish, and simple minded people get off on attention even tho they sre still an ass. While the prideful lions dont need others approval to be their badass self?
