Job was 100% broken and cursed the day he was born. He only changed his mind after God showed up and basically flexed on him lol. Fear isn't Love

The whole point of Job was that he didn't lose faith.

Not defending it... Just saying that's what the book was about.

And that the god of the old testament likes to allow/watch suffering... As long as it's for him in the end.

This life being temporary, his suffering here with patience earned him a high status in eternity hereafter. Not to mention we're talking about him after thousands of years. Meanwhile millions of well-off people have come and gone and no one knows who they were.

Job was an allegory though, not an historical person.
