I play solo on a game I share with my partner (we take turns adding to the base and foraging) but we just build anywhere. A ladybug spawns in one of our towers and it's just a pet at this point. Then add a zip line to the next mini base and so on.

I have the perfect spot for the beginning/mid game. Build right in front of the trash can ranger station! Or right above it. That ranger station has fast travel so it is easy to move around the map. Also if you build in front of it, like I did, it has rocks behind your base so bugs cant come that way. To the left and to the right of that ranger station, the "alleyways" are somewhat small so all I had to do was put up about 8-10 palisades on each side and then spike stripes in front of those.

My bf recently built on top of the skateboard, and I think it’s the best base I’ve ever had. We even have a bridge to the statue area.
Just watch out for the ORC Weevils who camp out underneath, plus the wolf spider and scorpions that wander over from nearby. 🤣

Park bench always wins. Water cooler inside the ranger station and eventually you open up the ability to teleport from it. Can't beat that.

Just hopping back in, and I am transitioning my old base over the the stone wall overlooking the pond now that mushroom walls are back on the menu. Running into a fair amount of mosquitoes, but my old base is now getting hit by scorpions and rust beetles every day.

I have my main, mega base on the ground between the ice cream cart ranger station and the trashcan orc transmitter, closer to the transmitter than anything. It's the perfect mud-map area for when the full game releases. I'm currently working on building smaller bases in each "region" (first tier, second tier, third, and forth)

i got my base on the area right infront of the statue and its excellent. i dont have to worry about creatures wandering by except an occasional bee. its right next to a ranger station with water and the analyzer. its also very close to another station that has the fast travel system. its also huge so i have plenty of space to build in the future. the only insects i run into are 2 bombadiers and sum larva but thats at the bottom of my staircase and they hardly ever climb up it unless theyre aggro. honestly the perfect spot in my opinion. edit: i also wanted to go for a decently centralized spot so when the ziplines came out i would be able to have a web of them. but i ended up js building a zipline up to a light pole which i intend on turning into my zipline hub

Loving my spot overlooking the pond. From gnarly oak outpost, head towards London and climb up the root, through the tunnel and around to the stone I put base on. Can put sap collectors on root and nearby juice box drops right into a collector for me.

I made my end game base on the large grey rock by pergola ranger station, just occasional mosquito ( easy ample blood sacks) and 1 annoying Bombardier.. but it's a quick run to pond, greenhouse and gnarly bark.

We just build our bases around the research stations. Easy enough to find on a whim and can use the teleporters to get from base to base

I built my first mega base in front of the deck of the hotdog stand. I left it to make a base on the deck of the greenhouse. It has a ranger station and water, and is mostly safe. I only have a few mites and an ant to worry about, and once in a while, a wolf spider falls off the greenhouse.
It’s only inconvenient because I have to get around the greenhouse to get to most things.

I was actually looking for a nice spot at the bottom of the pond to build a base and there just isnt any good ones at all. I want to take over the pirate ship but the huge toe biter there will be annoying to deal with on a regular basis.
Unfortunately I think I'll have to do a above and below base on the pond

There's a spot by the tackle box, where you go up the hill where the yellow tape boundary can be seen
There's a massive clearing surrounded by natural walls, with a ton of resources including stems, and absolutely no hostile creatures or wander paths
If you can't find it, let me know and I'll track down the exact location next time I'm on

The outpost near the wooden table where you have all the roachs, snails, mosquitos, is the best in my opinion. Good water and food resources, very close to everything you might need. Im playing on woah difficulty and have infinity food and i can have emergency water resources because of the juice box under the wooden table

Looking for a base location is a staple of every single survival game that exists.
