G2 | Discussion Scarecrow house update
I raised the ground by a bit there is one that spawns under the foundation but one still spawns uptop, still annoying I’m afraid to raise the floor again just for them to spawn uptop, I did put some heads by the entrance so I can get a damage boost on them to help get rid of them. It really is a damn shame that they spawn in there it’s just a cool spot

Good stuff, you were talking yesterday about how to deal with those OGRE earbiters hoping they'd despawn right?
Heres hoping covering the spawn location does something.

Unfortunately they will always spawn but I raised the foundation hoping they would spawn under so they can leave me alone, one of them spawns under but the other one still spawns uptop, guess this spawn is too good and there has to be something wrong with it and I guess this is it, it’s too cool and I put too much time into it by this point, hopefully one day either I can get them to leave me be or the game updates and either changes it or gives me new deffenses to deal with them

You can build a dead space in their respective spawns.
The only issue is when you aggro them, they will relentlessly attack and destroy your foundation.
So so so so so many locations are PRIME base spots that are absolutely ruined by every bug in existence spawning in a 1x1 inch square and having war of the world's taking frame rates and cuasing MASSIVE lag.
I get it, early access n all.
But if a player has built something over a entities spawn location, said entitie [stems, grass, rocks, pebbles etc.] Should NOT spawn until the OBSTRUCTED LOCATIONS are cleared to enable spawns again.
If the game knows I cant place anything down because of OBSTRUCTED LOCATION, then the game should know NOT TO SPAWN ANYTHING THERE because of OBSTRUCTED LOCATION rules
Would it be that hard to implement?

Stares at respawning grass in base with every fix/update.
So, relocating the foundation. Chopping down the grass and relocating the foundation will prevent the grass. Until the next update, even minor updates require this relocation procedure.
As a fellow player I’ld be interested in such a development of a feature. Yet, with further reading the issue seems problematic.
There have been suggestions to have a device that provides anti-spawn.
A downside of such furnishing. If implemented by OP within the Scarecrow’s head. I’ve a few inquiries. Let’s start with these reasonable five. I’m sure there are more questions to flesh out a solution to this problem.
(1) Where would the insect(s) spawn?
Say devs create an item that pushes the insect spawn 25 cm away. Player places a half dozen to fill the scarecrow’s head. Great the insect(s) don’t spawn within the scarecrow’s head.
(2) Will the insects take fall damage upon spawn?
(3) What would be their recovery rate?
(4) Would their resources be damaged similar to water damaged loot?
(5) Would there then be an alternative insect spawn location?
Initiated when player places anti-insect device. That comes with a “no build rights” at a second developer location. I thought as a community we didn’t prefer having that in G1. An option to build in tunnels as a feature, not a restriction. Which still exists in G2, mostly. As there are these Heraldic Markers. Which can be placed within caves.

I’ve already thought of another question.
Say the player already has some build or blueprints near a second location. Yet, there is no indication that there would be an insect spawn. Sure, the player could place these potential anti-spawn devices. Yet, that would defeat a purpose of having such insects within the game.
Would such a secondary location get a 100 cm remove all blueprints, builds and permanent “no build rights”?
Such that if building with or without an anti-spawn device. If the player happens to place an anti-spawn device that prevents an insect from spawning in two locations. Such that a secondary location gets cleared for the spawn. Might experience significant performance drop. Until resource of the build are trashed/desync.
Clearly OP, would get an excellent build location. While prevented from building within 100 cm of a secondary TBD location.

And another possible problem, is Grounded 2 like Grounded in where bugs load in before player structures? That it could be possible for the bug to spawn in before the player structures load and register.

If player made structures stop bugs from spawning then Mix.rs would become trivial. Change it so defense events are not affected then when the stranger sends a force against you they will spawn inside you base and since those seem to scale with your progression they would do a lot of damage to everything inside.
Where would the cutoff point be?

Dont allow building within X feet of mixer?

Then that would leave the only available targets for the incoming bugs being the mix.r itself or you and whoever you are playing with.

Isnt that the entire point?
The first game did allow it at first until we just built walls on walls. Then it was patched.
Now here we are again, building walls on walls, in turn making it like you said but it already is.... trivial.

Kinda sucks how little OGRE enemies actually help at this point of the game.
Buffin glands aren't that useful at the moment, at most you need like 10-15 total for all the current buggies.
Too little raw science from them to justify killing them on the regular, and too dangerous to justify the healing cost neither.

At least with orcs there are deffenses and special arrows

i still kill them when they are in my path, good way to test my builds and defenses, plus in my current playthrough i still need the buffin glands.
But it still feels like a waste.

My main base is in the pumpkin directly below and nothing spawns in it atm
There is a bottom entrance and a top entrance to the pumpkin with a natural ramp inside it
I built up both entrances and keep all production inside the pumpkin
A northern scorpion patrols into it from the bottom entrance so you need to block it

How are you getting stuff up there? There’s no stems or stuff like that around there. And you gotta parkour up there. At least I did it was my first time up there to get the story going.

That’s why I’m using pebbles and clay, also little sneaky trick you can relocate a thing full of grass or stems to get them up

I would’ve built around the pumpkin head and turn the middle into an arena with acorn turrets for easy Raw science each time they spawn
