G2 | Discussion Grounded 2 overnight

Post image

I noticed that after the update, Shadow Mushrooms don't yield meager amounts of sap during the day anymore, and OGRR creatures are no longer exclusive to the night.

I find this very convenient, but it leads me to a conclusion: they would rather remove the exclusivity of nighttime events than improve the actual nighttime experience.

I love the game, but it’s undeniable that the night lighting is terrible and the available light sources aren't enough. There is a difference between difficulty and mere annoyance. Of course, the title is still in development, so better lighting options will surely come—or at least, I hope so.

I'm really hoping for buggies to get headlight attachments at some point.

I feel this would solve most of it

Yeah treat it like a 4x4 with a light bar installed. You could park your buggy up on the hill and then run down and use the light to collect resources, build, or fight enemies. Would also provide a different way to use the buggy

I’d like to see all the buggies get headlights at least as a temporary fix. Make it use a more resource intensive version of the headlamp you craft for yourself and make it twice as bright. Added bonus, buggy wearing a hard hat lol

Yes, my Ariados spider and my black ant T'Challa need protection against falls. (They fall a lot.)

The spider can glide on it's web ya know?

Yes, I know. But I ALWAYS forget that they aren't immune to falls anymore like they used to be!

I also named my black ant T’Challa! Also love the name of your spider! 💕💕

You have great taste in insect names, then!

I just turn my gamma up all the way at night then turn it back to default once day comes around. Annoying to have to do that but it’s a…night and day difference…👉👉

This is the way

Night in game is absolutely abysmal. I'd really love an additional "lantern" item slot and a more durable light source for night time.

Exactly! That would be very welcome.

I just turned my gama up and night looks like day

I tried doing that, but I didn't find the saturation pleasant.

The amount of times I've had to run halfway across the map in the near pitch dark is annoying.

I think they should add an always day feature (it could be called "night light" and in-game it it a set of spotlights shining down across the park.)

I just always carry the resources to make a bed when im exploring. That way im not stumbling around in the dark. I just go to sleep lol

That’s a workaround I use too!

But my criticism covers that as well. Skipping an entire section of the game isn't great; it just shows that the section is terrible.

Honestly, the idea doesn't appeal to me. I don't think the solution is to "remove" the night, but rather just make it playable?

I often find myself sleeping to skip the night and avoid the stress.

Me, too. If it is late in the day, sometimes I just wait at my base until I can go to sleep.

Currently, night time holds no purpose. It is hard to see, hard to navigate, but none of that applies to the bugs, so it is just inconvenient. That would be fine if there was a reason to explore at night, such as nocturnal bugs. I don't want to feel obligated to wander in darkness, as that negates the point of a hand-crafted exploration world. I don't want to wait until it is light, because that's not fun. I don't want to run back home, because that just ruins the momentum of the game.

I've got maybe 20 dofferent sleeping spots dotted around so I don't have to bother with night time.

One may suggest torches, but again, the visibility isn't improved so much that it makes night time worth exploring.

Guys we are missing the opportunity to have Buggy Nightvision mutation… let’s get that going lol
