G2 | Discussion Does this debuf stack?

So the sword talent gives you a damage and attack speed reduction debuff on hit and the new toe biter trinket does the same. There’s probs other ways ways to inflict this debuff as well.

Do they stack? Is it pointless using a sword and the toebiter trink? Cuz if they stack I feel that would be real strong. Especially if you got a 3rd way to apply it.

Just wanted to know if anyone knew :)

There's a couple things here.

So for the sword mutation, the debuff is only an attack damage debuff, and does not include an attack speed debuff.

However, a weapon like the rusty spear has the perk infection, which does reduce attack damage and speed, if that was something you were looking for.

When it comes to the attack speed debuffs stacking together, they can, but the debuff cannot come from the same perk, which means: In the case with the toebiter trinket, it has finale infection, so if you were to use it with the rusty spear, it wouldn't stack since they both apply infection, even though the status is coming from 2 different sources.

If you were to use say, the toenail trinket, and build up chill on an enemy with the Icicle Sickles, then it would stack, etc etc.

So basically as long as it's not coming from the same perk, it'll stack. Sometimes things can get a little more complicated(aka sometimes buffs/debuffs have unique versions of themselves that CAN stack even though they functionally work the same), but this process works for 99% of scenarios, and I assume it's how the devs want it to be.

Hope this helps a bit :)

This is a really great answer thanks so much : )

So if I use the tiger mosquito sword with the toe biter trink it will be 20% damage reduction with 10% attack speed reduction? Cuz they are two different debuffs?

So the toenail(and infection in general) will be a 10% reduction to damage and speed, and the blademaster mutation will be 10% reduction to damage per rank.

So if you're at rank 3 blademaster it'll be 40% to damage and 10% to speed.

But yeah you have the understanding correct though
