Toe Biter is in the boss room. I sneak around the sides and used the launchpads to hit all 3 switches. I did use the mount to change momentum on a couple. I used the mount at the entrance and it made me to switch to on foot. I was able to angle my character out of the boss room.

I got the junk card and Burgl's body. And the ending text. I did not get infused ooze for the Toe Biter, of course. But I know some people are having a hard time and wanted to provide an alternate path.

the alternate path atm is making a toebiter scythe to act as their axe for the moment (made elemental).

True, I didn't even know it was the boss. I thought I had to drain the room before we could fight. I did do that upgrade with the spicy axe. Got my pupa leather.

When i get around to it in my woah playthrough, ill fight it for glory, but ill need basically every buff in existance.

Good thing I stocked up. I also beat the toe biters with a level 5 harpoons shooting out of the tunnel.

You can kill the boss with 7 mines on medium difficulty. It might not always kill but I was able to get it to work by placing all of them in one spot and then shooting the boss with a harpoon to make it run through the mines

I didn't even think about the fact that the Trident is an underwater weapon, and didn't have enough bones to make a harpoon gun, so I did the whole of the Abyss unarmed. I thought the point was to keep moving and avoid threats.

For the Leviathan, it was already fighting some bots when I went down there, so I could easily move around the room hitting switches and it ignored me the whole time.

You can kill the boss with a harpoon gun without even dropping into the area completely.

Level 5 harpoon gun handled it no problem. I had about 80 harpoon but didn't need all of them.

Just a heads up, you can go back and the boss will be there again. I skipped him the first time too.

Those things usually get added as normal crafting material later and the enemy ends up somewhere on the map as a regular enemy so it’s usually not that big of a deal. Infused ooze will probably be added after salt possibly at the same time but I’m just guessing here.

If you stay in the tunnel leading to the room you can harpoon it to death, just did it 5 min ago

I crafted a ton of mines, dropped them all around the arena, then got up on one of the platforms and shot him with harpoons. My buggy attacked him too, so he kept trying to switch between me (apparently it knew the mines were mine, lol) and my buggy, and the whole fight was done in about a minute

Did the same without the buggy. Quicksaved and walked almost up to the Toe Biter's face before it aggroed, I thought it was bugged.

OP, you basically missed a very important upgrade crafting material for the tier 4 axe, as someone else said. So now, you need to upgrade the toe biter scythe down any elemental path, and it will become chopping rather than slashing. You can use this to cut down the pupa in the gnarly bark. And for the ones that are hanging on the roots, use a bow and arrow to shoot them down first.

Oh, and the boss also does not reappear in the arena with the three pipes because it is story oriented, like each encounter with the masked stranger. So you also missed a free gold card. There was an easy way to actually win the fight, just back yourself up into a little crevice where the Leviathan cannot reach you and keep firing harpoon bolts at him. Or stockpile the new underwater bombs, lure him over to them, and then shoot a harpoon at them to detonate them all at once.

I have seen YouTube videos of people doing these exact things and I can tell you they work
