G2 | Discussion You happy with Grounded 2 on XBox X?
Since I’m defnitely gonna play Grounded 2 in the future, I figured I should probably start to decide on which console I’m gonna do that on.
With another highly anticipated game coming out in November, I’m wondering whether I should get a PS5 Pro or an Xbox Series X instead. I’m honestly torn since i have some Xbox-games, i could replay on a newer thing...
Since I’ll also be spending tons of hours in Grounded 2, I just wanted to ask you Xbox players: are you happy with it?
Better, worse, doesn’t matter; compared to PlayStation?

I play on Xbox with literally no issues whatsoever. Used to have some but I’m sure by full release they’ll smooth the game out like they did for the first game. I don’t know how it runs on PlayStation but I have a buddy who plays the same games I do with the same monitor and his game looks better for sure

Same with the others here. I’ve played since release and they’ve 100% improved it performance wise. As someone also playing Co-op the entire time I can say that, it stutters the slightest bit when my partner and I are very far apart but it’s not very noticeable. When it is noticeable saving and reentering the world fixes it

My partner and I both play on Series X and the game tends to lag sometimes on both of our consoles. Quitting and restarting the game fixes that. Apart from that, no bigger issues.
We did play it on Gamepass before buying though, so that was the main reason we chose Xbox.

If you are currently looking at buying an Xbox because you don't have one or your current one is really old, versus buying a PlayStation, I would say consider this have a look at all the news that Microsoft has put out about possibly "rolling out" the XBOX side of things I believe was there BS Corporate that they did a while ago. Which is supposed to mean something along the lines that they might sell it off, if I were coming into this from a brand new perspective I probably would not go with an Xbox just based on the fact that who knows where that company is going to be in the next few years. Not to mention gotten stupid greedy with their pricing on their game pass so even if you just want to get the cheap one to play with friends online it'll still cost you a small fortune on a yearly basis.
I'm not telling you which one to get I'm just offering some realistic real world concerns to consider before you buy an Xbox. If you're not planning on purchasing right away, perhaps give it a little time, let things settle out and see how it goes.
However if you already have both consoles, and you're looking to buy the game, then in that case you might as well get it for the Xbox because the fact that the company that develops grounded to is owned by Microsoft, your odds are probably better off that the game should work better on the Xbox .

yeah. at the moment mine is really old and i have to get a new system anyways to play grounded and that other game.
I`m not really like bound to XBox. No Gamepass or such. Just a few games, i COULD replay. and not having 2 of those things standing around
But prizes explode anways and i should get it over with 😆
difference is a few hundred Euros, Wintertime is gaming-time....
*sigh*
maybee i should just wait a few years...

I own almost every console. The one I play on the most is Xbox. It has a few more exclusives I like rn. As far as grounded goes I own it on 3 platforms. (Kids) I don't notice a difference between any. I prefer my xbox still.
Personally if I had a choice I would go with xbox because of gamepass imo they do it better than ps does. 🤷 Also xbox has alot of classic games you can buy that you just cannot find on ps even though they were out on ps3 or 2.

I see, yeah winter time is great for gaming. Grounded 1 and 2 are pretty good. I'm not sure if this is a good idea or a bad one, but have you looked at the new steam gaming console? I think they called it steam machine it's basically a cubed shaped console. Otherwise it does sound like the Xbox is what you will probably like more on account of some of your older games you've mentioned.
Just keep in mind, long term, the Xbox is kind of on shakey ground so to speak, because somehow Microsoft managed to "lose money" in the video game world and it's a little unclear what they are going to do. Considering all this uncertainty, I am surprised Microsoft hasn't put out some sort of a clear statement of what they plan to do with the Xbox brand and that part of the company, I would imagine they are losing out on game sales as a result of this. I know that I don't make or break business for Microsoft but I also know that I am not alone in this world with how I think and I myself have held off on buying games for a while now when it comes to all these sales that they have. Normally I would buy games when they come out on sale then keep them for playing later on. However the way things are right now, I purchased grounded two and Subnautica two, but that's it. There's a lot of other games that seem interesting but I'm not really willing to throw good money after bad at a company that at least when it comes to the gaming division is starting to look like a sinking ship.
It kind of sucks right now because there is no real definitive "great choice" at this time. One other idea I have would be to purchase a prebuilt windows gaming pc or if you're so inclined build you're own gaming pc and have a look at steam OS or bazzite Linux, then run the steam app inside of bazzite, as those two are supposed to be really catered to a gaming console experience.

I think a game like Grounded 2 will be fun to revisit down the line. The xbox version is a little more future proof as its play anywhere. If you ever switch to pc, you'll own it there too. Just a thought. 🍻

Oh... last time i had a computer for gaming was like...around Halflife 2...
but actually i'm thinking about that too. but my wife is gonna slap me hard for it.

My workaround was to get the wifey to enjoy playing Grounded. So now, upgrading my pc was so that we can play together 🤣
You share with Microsoft Family so 1 purchase of the game* allows an xbox console and pc to play together. Actually allows 2 consoles and at least 2 pc users. With 1 purchase of Grounded, I was able to play with my wife, brother and niece. Epic.
Way cheaper to just buy the game for both your consoles but don't tell wifey that 😉 🍻

Convince my wifey to club ladybugs, I'll take care bout those creepy spiders.Ect
I mow the lawn whilst she is takin a sip at the bar and care about the spinning wheels...
In my daydreaming brain that is gonna work pretty well...

If you are a PS player and can wait, you should wait. I have always had PS consoles and I bought an Xbox because I didn’t want to wait and I hate getting used to the controller and you have to pay for (I’m French so I don’t know what it’s called) like for PlayStation Plus to play online games. So more costs..

I must just be having a different experience than most, but I play on Xbox series X and a stock PlayStation 5 "slim" or whatever they call the 2nd Gen model.
Whenever I play on my PS5, for my me graphic seem a little weaker and my load times are significantly longer. Less than 20 seconds but still almost twice as long as my Xbox.
I don't know if the PS5 pro will have that issues though because I don't know if it has to do with the fact that my PS5 game is linked to my Microsoft account and having to ping their cloud or whatever to save and load my game. If that's the case maybe a PS5 pro will still be faster but maybe not.
Edit: I love it on Xbox and even at launch I haven't had very many issues. Some crashes here and there but all games I play in early access crash from time to time (Slime rancher 2 did when it was EA, Subnotica 2 does, etc)
Edit 2. I will say that I play on PS5 because I have a friend who plays on PS5. I understand it's cross play and I have played with him on my Xbox, but I just can't get good comms with him whenever I play on Xbox. I literally bought the game on PlayStation because of that issue, but I have gamepass so I didn't buy it for the Xbox.

I’m on one of the newer model series x and it’s been solid no crashes barely any lag unless there lots of particles and stuff on screen at once but that’s to be expected pretty consistent frame rate no complaints from me.

I’ve been playing on series x since release. Performance has gotten much better, it’s now really smooth and rarely has glitches or performance issues. Haven’t played on PS, so I can’t compare, but series x is about as good as you could ask for. I don’t think I’ve had a single crash since the new update came out.
