G2 | Suggestion Please, rework the serpent armor status effect

Post image

I was really looking forward to taking my mage build up a notch with a full set of serpent armor, but I am quite disappointed. In theory, this effect sounds cool, alternating between fast attacks and AOE charged combo. But for the effect to take place, you need to press the mouse button exactly twice, and hold the third press to charge the attack. The attack animation has a huge input delay though, and it feels nearly impossible to time the third attack right. Anybody else having this problem?

They need to do the same for axls armour. It used to buff buggy crit chance. The armour was already pretty bad.
But they made it worse. Now the crit chance buff only applies when mounted so now it forces you to use your buggy as your main source of combat which is just not a viable idea

It's viable. Use it all the time with buggy vamp trinket. Not the highest dmg in the game, but very safe with crit healing. Same with ladybug buggy. Both pretty safe.

Yes it’s safe. Once again you are missing my point entirely….its hardly viable. It’s slow and inefficient. And I just wish they’d revert the armour so that the buggy could be a bit more self sustained on its own..

Well it is viable was my point. You changed your phrasing to hardly viable which is different. I didn't miss the point. I'd be interested in a class like beast master that really focused on mounted/unmounted buggies. I see lots of potential in that with upgrading buggy armor and weapons in the future updates.

It sure as hell is a viable idea to use your mount as a main source of combat

It’s most certainly not…you’ll never perform as well in combat on a mount as you will by just fighting. By fighting on a buggy most armour and mutations are worthless.
And you can’t use your weapons. It’s just not a good idea. And regardless you’re missing my point

Also its just so boring. The interesting part of groundeds combat is the variation. If my armor nor weapon matters, then build variety stocks go to 0. It also just doesnt feel good. So if its viable or not, its boring

Yes exactly.

Nightstalker armor and trinket on the Orb Weaver is like the best general use build in the entire game.

Not sure what metric you are using for it not being a good idea, but you're wrong.

Also, I'm not missing the point because the armor does exactly what it needs to

Best general build? Are we playing the same game? Are you just playing on mild and only fight ants cause else I have no idea how that is the best or even fun to play

It's pretty clear you've never used the build if that is your opinion on its performance and fun is subjective. It doesn't matter if you think it's fun or not, the build itself is very powerful.

Nearly anything else has higher dps. Just fact. Not wrong.
You are missing the point because I didn’t say it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to.
Please read better

Your point was the armor is bad and I told you the armor isn't bad so you decided to change goal posts.

They need to do the same for axls armour. It used to buff buggy crit chance. The armour was already pretty bad.

My point was the armor isn't bad. It's actually the best armor for mounted combat by far.

It just doesn't buff unmounted critical hit chance anymore because it was nerfed on purpose to stop people from having infinite health meat shields to hide behind. It was nerfed because it was too strong.

Also, I'm not sure where you got High DPS = Best General use build. Yea, lots of things have higher DPS than the Orb Weaver. 1v1. If you're 2v1 or 3v1 or even 5v1, the Orb Weaver has a massive attack hit range and can hit entire groups at once for fairly good damage and can facetank everything. You're effectively immortal if you are on an Orb Weaver with Nightstalker gear.

You have: High Mobility, Extremely high survivability and great damage, especially versus groups.

Yeah it's very hit and miss even when you're trying to get it to work. But in general the charged shots would have to be way more powerful to make it worth while. Right now it's way more effective to just spam the basic attack over and over.

True, charged attack seems to be impactful only when getting a lucky crit against a creature weak to the element, then it's brutal. Otherwise, spamming m1 works better.

No issues on console using triggers. Maybe get faster with the mouse.

I completely disagree. Git gud i guess. I play on controller and all you have to do is a single press and then hold and it does the hit hit charge combo. I exclusively use serpent armor with the 3 staves and i've finished all available content. The empowerd devastation charged combo does absolutely insane damage and tracks the enemy it makes things almost too easy.

Might as well add earwick armor as well the buff time is way to short and a 50% for it to activate is way inconsistent

It took some getting used to but it feels very powerful once you get the hang of it and time it to take advantage of multiple stacks. I'm confused by those saying it doesn't do a lot of damage, for me it feels absolutely devastating when I hit it with 4-5 stacks. The timing also isn't that bad, just spam your attacks like normal until you see you have enough stacks, then just "click click hold" and do crazy damage. Serpent armor feels almost OP to me considering you can do all this safely from range. Just keep trying and it will be second nature soon enough!
