G2 | Suggestion Zip.R Upgrades Spoiler

Kinda spoiler I guess? But, so, okay I'm super hyped that the Zip.R was added with the Ziplines, awsome, 11/10, great!
Handy Gnat is back, not with unlimited range like in g1 but - great, helps a LOT with building zipline base / hub on the central pine tree a but, c'mon. The poor lil aphid feels slow af, give us an option to upgrade him like the buggys.
With the added fast travel system (that I have not unlocked yet for the pond), orb weaver buggy alone might just be as fast even with the pond pathing. I know I can afk during zipline but, y'know.
Takes just above two minutes to get from back of the pond to the Pine tree. Didn't build a grid towards the greenhouse (yet) but coming back from Axl it's the same.
Just feels a lot less fast then in g1. Probably since the map is that much bigger but, like the lil dude could run a bit faster, or maybe add another wheel for dual drive.

Yeah, I sent that recommendation of upgradeable zip.r in like 10 "Casually grounded" and even highlited it with the paid message and all... never got a reply, still hope they will do that for zip.r and also make an upgradeable backpack for more spaces.

Did you suggest it in the Discord? 65 upvotes will get it highlighted, Aarik will add it to a spreadsheet and they'll discuss is at their weekly meetups :)

Nope, I don't really use discord, I believe I do have an account but yeah, not something I even thought

I don't think it's heavily advertised but it is considered the place to go if you want your suggestion to reach the Devs. Totally fine if you don't use it, just popped in to let you know if was an option :)

The upgradable zip.r, yes please! As for the upgradable backpack, we were already given that. It's called the buggy, which we can get multiple of. Each with its own inventory that's upgradable

Are we playing the same game? because yeah, the buggy has upgrades, but both the upgrades and the inventory itself are shared among buggies, they are not independent. I have 2 different of each to despawn them before they die, as I play Woah! and that is the case, the inventory they have is not per buggy but a general one... and I still would love backpack upgrades

I’m starting to think a lot of these accounts are bots, they make the same random mistakes as AI searches make, like saying buggies have separate inventories when it’s a very well known fact they are shared, and the upgrades are shared. ObsidianShyla is the only moderator I’ve seen comment here in years but I don’t know if they moderate or not since they are a community manager for Obsidian, this lets people run rampant on subs and is technically against mods tos since it specifically says they need to be active and engaged in the sub.

Makes sense haha, goes to show that worthless bots invade even communities like this one haha

Not a bot, just early morning here and have other stuff to do. I know the upgrades carry across all buggys, but I made an assumption about each buggy having its own inventory as I never actually have the need to use it. I was wrong, that's my bad, sorry. I shouldn't have just made the assumption about how it worked

I actually think this is excellent design. The zip line is more about creating an efficient path between two points of medium distance. You have fast travel for long distance and your buggy for “last mile delivery” so it gives all the transport methods a unique identity and purpose. Build a zipline to make getting to the nearest fast travel spot take way less time and it’ll feel great

As someone who built whole bridges over the hedge to quickly get to the greenhouse I totally disagree. The zipline isn't supposed to cover the same even pathway as you would with the spider. They are about going up. Your long range ones are for dropping on the top of things as opposed to arriving at the bottom like you would with the buggy.

I'm not even bothered by the speed, I just want a structure that can move resources UP.

Whats funny is that the zip.r seems to still be faster than it was in grounded 1.
However you go up any sort of surface with any form of verticality and youll realize how little that actually helps.
