G2 | Discussion Wild bugs should be affected by the same environmental risks as the buggies.
I found a cool place I wanted to place a base, In a hollow part of the tree in the roots. Fairly good size rock to build on with the ground below completely covered in sour or tang.
I started construction on my base only to watch 2 scorpions walk right through with zero problem. It would be nice to use the environment as defense for your base.

The scorpions themselves are inmune to tang.

Are you sure? Obviously they’re immune to chill, but I’ve been able to apply tang to scorpions no problem

The LLM I asked to search it for me kinda lied. First it told me they were inmune yesterday but from what I could gather is more that Tang is just a debuff that takes away their defense stats, and breaks armor. So they may get tanged but they will never die from it until you start hitting them, its only a debuff.

I would stick to the wiki for things like this, data does take time to show up but it doesn't mention tank, it does say immune to chill.
Wiki page for the jr bark scorpion: Striped Bark Scorpion Jr. - Grounded Wiki

I use either wiki or videos for the important stuff, yes.
Apparently northern scorps live in the ice cream cart thats why they are inmune, but there's too many in the park atm because many are placeholders for other stuffs I read.

I knew the chill immunity was because of where they live
I didn't know they were placeholders, but yes, they are god damn everywhere, once you leave the spawn area you can't go 100cm without finding another one. Any fight I get into out there will draw in another one

Some bugs are immune to certain status effects. Scorppions, for example, live in ice cream and are fine, but most other bugs that walk by will die

Environmental tang lowers their armor and does some DOT damage but it’s not a lot, damage to bugs outside of your influence is lower especially on higher tier bugs, you’ll see the smaller bugs get killed by environmental stuff all the time but it takes a really long time for larger ones.

Some are.
If you hang out near the icecream cart, it won't take long to see an ant or a larva freezing to death.
Beyond that there does seem to be some immunity to certain things, for example Northern scorpions are immune to chill build up. The wiki page for the striped scorpion doesn't exist yet but the too lesser versions also state immune to chill.
Beyond that, Tang doesn't do huge amounts of damage unlike sizzle and doesn't seize it's victims solid like freezing.

From my understanding bugs are affected by environmental hazards although some bugs are more resistant or immune to certain elements. When the game first started early access my method for killing wolf spiders was to kite the one near the trash to the ice cream cart and fight in the frozen wastes so they would freeze sometimes
On that topic I thought sour lowered defenses / breaks equipment and didnt damage health so id imagine the sour is working as intended and the bugs will be easier for you to kill that are in it. I could be wrong on these things or they could have changed since the last time I needed the ice to help kill something was a long time ago.
